I wanted to take out my friends who flew down from Wisconsin and PA with their girlfriends to a nice Italian place. Somebody suggested this place and so went to this place. One of my friend ordered a pizza with jalapenos, pineapples and some tomatoes. After waiting for 30 minutes, his pizza comes while rest of us are through 1/4th of our dinner. His pizza contains no pineapples but anchovies. My friend politey told the waiter that he is strictly vegetarian and he ordered for pineapples on the pizza and not anchovies. So, the guy without any darn apology takes it back. After 10 minutes, we get fresh pineapples cut on a plate! and no pizza!! Something was wrong. And then to top it all, his pizza comes again after 10 more minutes with anchovies yet again but without jalapenos! My friend got so fed up that he refused to eat there. We didnt have any apology from anybody there! No discount or anything else!

This was probably the worst restaurant I've been to in more than 5 years. Starting with being shown to the worst table in the place (and trust me, looks-wise, we're not known to ever be "hidden" away"), and after asking to be moved, we wee told only 4-top tables were available - even tho not long after, a twosome was sat at a table for 4. Anyway, I can deal with a bad seat (facing elevators going into a hotel), I can't deal with subpar food. The water-logged pasta was inedible, and probably a mistake on my partners part, but she ordered the steak, which was disgustingly sinewy, fatty and gross. The only decent dish was the calmari- but that's pretty hard to scew up. The waiter didn't even ask if anything was wrong, seeing we left 3/4 or more of our food on the plate.

serafina has been my favorite restaurant for years. the penne vodka is delicious as is any other dish on the menu. you would be crazy not to like it here!

My husband and I have dined at Serafina before and had been happy with the prices, the food and the service however this weekend left us with great disappointment. Our waiter sat us down handed us our menu and proceeded to ask if we were ready to place our order. After viewing the menu we placed our order. The waiter did not come over at all to see how everything was or if we needed anything. When we ordered desserts our waiter walked away as we were asking for coffee. After our meal we waited about 10-15 minutes before our bill finally arrived. Perhaps the waiter was having an off night but be professional. It wasn't even that busy since it was around 5:30 on a Sunday.

The first few times i ate at the restaurant, i was disapointed. Once i discovered the childrens pizza which is cheap and perfectly sized, i was delited. After a mistake made by the waiter, i discovered a delicious salad- the CHICKEN SALAD with raisins, sun dried tomatoes, pesto dressing, lettuce, pine nuts, and grilled chicken breast. I love it. it is seriously the best salad i've ever had. for 14.50, it is a huge salad with flavor. good stuff, if you know what to get.

i found that the food was bland. the spinach salad was skimpy and had a very sweet dressing. i wouldn't mind paying these prices if it were good, but i felt like everything was just too plain.

We were in NYC for the weekend. Decided to try Serafina, it was close to our hotel. It's suppose to be "kid friendly" but wasn't. We ordered pasta w/marinara sauce for our 7 yr.old. It was pasta w/a very thick alfredo sauce w/a touch of tomato. My husband ordered penne with vodka....same as my daughters. Alfredo sauce w/a touch of tomato. I ordered a salad for 10.00, it was very basic and small. The pizza was OK but have had much better else where. My advice...don't bother, there are much better places in the same area!
