    Very disappointed

My fiance & I along with a friend met there for dinner. I have eaten at their other locations & always found the pizza delicious. The calamari was okay - a bit over battered & I did not like the marinara but that was okay. I was ordering the margarita pizza to share with my fiance - he also wanted mushrooms, so we added that & the waiter asked if we wanted olives. I thought it was a strange question but said ok. After a while I noticed a pizza delivered to the bar, the bartender took it then brought it back & it sat. Finally the waiter grabbed the pizza & my friend's meal & came to the table. I questioned it sitting & he said it was still warm but if I wanted it changed, he would. I was hungry & wanted to eat & get going, so we took it. The pizza was cold & when my fiance bit it, he said that the olive he ate had a pit so I was to be careful. All the olives had pits & when I asked about that the waiter made it sound like all pizzas with olives came with pits.

    good!

I just ate lunch here yesterday with three business colleagues. We thoroughly enjoyed our food, which was fresh and absolutely delicious. I had the farfalle al limoncello - superb! and we split some salads and a pizza. Our server couldn't have been more attentive and polite. He was back at our table every few minutes to check on us. It was a business lunch, and we were able to eat and enjoy our meals in a reasonable amount of time, because the servers were so on the ball. I will be going back for sure.

    Fabulous Atmosphere

My sister and I were looking for a new place to eat, with a different feel. I have to say that this restaurant is truly interesting and artistic. The service was not exceptional, but good enough. I am a pizza critic/fanatic and have to say that the pizza was too soggy for my taste. I also ordered the Penne alla Stolichnaya (spelling), which was decent, but not the best that I've had. I would certainly go back and try something else. Overall, I would recommend this place to people, if for nothing more than the decor. The foccacia bread is pretty good as well.

    poor food and service

I ordered a pizza and it was so very soggy. When I picked it up it fell apart and water ran on the table. The waiter never came to check on us. I had to waive to get his attention after waiting for at least ten minutes and ask for a check. He said the food was good, wasn't it. I told him it was not good and the pizza was very runny. He turned and walked away and returned with the check. There was never an offer to get something else or even an appology. I was in town for the NYC marathon and had to go somewhere else to eat after we left. The atmosphere was nice, but will never go back. I have tried to find out how to notify the manager, but there are no emails on their website.

Good food, but could have been better

Ordered the brushetta, it was ok, but not worth the $7.50. Also, when the pasta came, we didn't have any bread, finally we flagged down a bus boy who brought us a little loaf, not enough for 2 people. The soda's were watered down and again, tiny, not worth the $2.50. The service was quick, but again, the food, nothing to right home about. I will not be going back.

    Great Atmosphere - Bad Service

I went to Serafina on Broadway his past Sunday for a family birthday dinner - we were 5 people. I used to live across the street and have been a few times before this time everything was terrible and I will not go back. Before the negatives, I will say the atmosphere is great. Onto my bad experience: we had a spill early on and NO ONE cleaned it even though we asked 2x (WE had to take napkins from another table to dry the table and floor). We had to ask 2x for bread and when it came it was not enough for 5 people. . Oh and there were no bread plates. The service continued to go downhill then we realized several of the wait staff were hanging out /goofing off on the landing right by our table. So that’s where the staff was! My pizza was big, but under cooked and tasteless. The calamari was a soggy mess. I think people were happy with their pasta BUT we all agreed the service made this meal frustrating and not a "Happy Birthday". We ordered a round of drinks that never arrived. And the icing on the cake was the women’s bathroom was out of order! Perhaps some of the other locations are managed properly, but this one was not.

I have found Italy in NYC

Been to Italy a lot of times and must say it was a surprise to find Sarafina in NYC. Sarafina was located right beneath our hotel 'Dream'. Good waiters - very friendly and worth tipping. Good meal, pizza was really fresh, Nice salads -good sized-. You should try the Tuscan dry wine, its a really good one. We ate there several times, during lunchhours and late at night before going back to the hotelroom. After several days...it was time to go back to Holland.. We went to Sarafina for our last meal. The waiters made our 'Goobye meal' one to remember.
