Ehh..
Very overpriced, but decent. Frisee salad was the best part of the meal.

Brunch not worth it
The "chocolate" themed brunch was a joke. The entree was small with no hint of chocolate. The bread basket consisted of flavorless "chocolate" bread and a chocolate croissant cut in to three pieces. The buffet consisted of two cakes (that tasted like day old bakery), fruit with fondue, and whipped cream. I saw them pour the juice right out of the Tropicana container into a carafe. You could have gotten the same or better for half the price any where else!

Food ok, service wanting
The only complain I have about the food is that the pepper steak seemed to have been done with already ground pepper, so you could feel a very strong pepper taste. Usually, I don´t feel the pepper, even though I can see small pieces of peppercorn all over the meat. Here, I couldn´t see the pepper, but felt it for sure -no subtle flavor. The sauce was good and once you overcome the overpowering pepper, it is bearable. The main waiter was one of those who think they know everything just because he is slightly above the rest of waiters and bus boys. We requested our steak medium, and after several minutes -fearing the meat would arrive too done, we called the waiter and reminded him that we wanted it medium. He just said he knew and did nothing. Several minutes later, the meat arrived overcooked! They changed it, of course, but this was just a product of this guy´s arrogance.

Good Neighborhood Spot
Friendly bistro right off 6th Ave - lively music/bar scene. Good, simple food - escargots are fab. Sit outside and enjoy one of the best burgers in NYC. Probably get their meat from the Burger Joint inside the hotel. I've seen complaints about their drinks - they make a MEAN martini............ The music trio is very entertaining.

Just about right
Seppi's fits the profile of a typical hotel restaurant (or in this case bistro). Many of the pieces are in place, and some of them are good, but the overall experience is a little less than you'd expect from a "dedicated" restaurant. On the plus side, the food is definitely Parisian-inspired and well prepared. Atmosphere is definitely Left Bank bistro (including live music). Service could use more energy (then again, when you're serving until 2 a.m. you are going to hit the wall at some point) and the wine list is worthy of a bistro in Paris, Texas, but not NYC. If you go, try the merguez starter (spicy lamb sausage), but make sure your water glass is full!

Not going back
We dined at Seppi's last night. My cocktail was subpar, but still $13. The wine list is overpriced. Even for a Manhattan restaurant. My appetizer (the tarte flambee) was not very good. When the waiter came to clear the plates, mine was still full, I said, "I did not care for this" and yet, he walked away with my plate without saying anything. The chicken with stuffed mushrooms was just ok. Nothing to write home about and certainly nothing to make me go back for another $100 meal when there are thousands of other good places to eat.

Best chocolate desserts!
I have been here 3 times for the Sunday chocolate brunch and I love it! They give you a choice of 5 different entrees, all with a hint of chocolate somewhere in them, a choice of either hot chocolate (to die for), coffee or tea, and a lavish chocolate buffet (all you can eat) for dessert. I have had the steak and eggs (with cocoa beans) and french fries, the salmon napoleon (with a hint of chocolate in the sauce) and the poached eggs with smoked salmon (the chocolate is in the phyllo dough and the sauce, just a hint). No, the entrees are not loaded down with chocolate, but would you want eggs loaded with chocolate? They are supposed to have a hint of chocolate and the dessert is the chocolate buffet. The chocolate bread they give you when you sit down is also wonderful and they keep refilling it for you as much as you want. The nicest touch to the chocolate buffet is the fresh strawberries and chocolate fondue to dip them in. They give you all this for only $24 a person, not bad! Kids under 4 eat the chocolate buffet for free and they only charge $5 for a small plate of eggs and potatoes for the kids (but it's a generous portion). They also offer an a la carte menu for those who don't want the chocolate brunch, but the chocolate buffet is a must have!
