Was really excited when sel de mer opened up! The food really is excellent, prices are great and I love how the menu changes weekly. That being said, my only complaint really is with service. People who work there are very nice, but the last several times I ate there I waited almost an hour for my food...even during breakfast for french toast and eggs. No apologies for delay or even acknowledgment...which is disappointing and doesn't help the tension of a grumbling stomach. Wish they gave you some bread to nosh on while waiting for breakfast. Dinner is typically quicker....if you're going for brunch make sure you're not hungover and in desperate need of food...cause you'll wait. Overall, great addition to the neighborhood... just need to work out some kinks.

Very excited to have a seafood restaurant in the neighborhood (note that most of the fish options are specials and not on the menu), we were equally excited to learn that they can now finally serve beer and wine. The clam chowder was good - It included lots of potato and corn, however the wedge salad was a disaster. There was little to no dressing, although that may have been a blessing as the dressing was very watery. The entrees, a wild bass over artichoke risotto and fish sliders, were pretty solid. While there is definitely value for money here, I didn't find the portions to be particularly remarkable.

This restaurant is a gem. My boyfriend and I split the fried green tomato appetizer, mussels frites with chorizo and tomatoes, and grilled flounder with greens. Everything was so fresh, flavorful, and perfectly cooked--and the portions were super generous. The atmosphere was homey and unpretentious, as was our server. To top it all off, the check was only $20 each (including tip)--you definitely can't beat that. We will back soon!!

I live right around the corner and checked it out last night. Started with the fried green tomatoes and the oysters. Both were lovely, the oysters with an interesting watermelon vinegarette dressing (and an incredible price for 6 at $9). Then we had two specials, the yellowtail and the mahi mahi. Both were cooked perfectly and were very generous cuts for a great price. The value of this place is really incredible. As of now they don't have beer/wine, and you can't bring your own. So that is a bit of a downer, but they will supposedly be getting it in July, and really unless that is a necessity for you I would still recommend.
