    Our favorite

My boyfriend and I have been going to brunch at Sel de Mer on a very regular basis (once or twice a month) for about a year. It's our favorite. They seem to have worked out a lot of kinks during that time, and now have a really solid menu with a wonderful cast of rotating specials. My bf loves the biscuits and gravy or the burger, I love the BLT, french toast, and their creamy tomato soup. It's a cozy, sweet neighborhood spot and we will keep going back.

    Tremendous

I've eaten here several times in the last three months, and everything has been superb. They have a chef that really knows how to cook seafood, and their daily specials are always interesting and delicious. On a recent trip I had a sea bass with white beans, wilted kale, and tabasco sauce. It was phenomenal. Also, where else can you get a nice big whole steamed lobster with fries for $18? Try the beet salad for a starter and definitely try one of the specials. Service is average and the place is tiny and cramped when busy, and for some reason it's always on the warm side in there. Those complaints are easy to deal with for food this good. GO!

    A marineer's delight

Ive been here many times and the food is always solid, always satisfies and never dissapoints. Theres nothing really like it anywhere nearby. They get slammed on the weekends and don't take reservations for less than 3 people so plan accordingly, its great during the week. the muscles frites are a sure bet but if you like fish go with one of the specials. Its cozy, nicely lit inside, and warm if you're not right in front of the door on a cold busy night. The decor is spot on for the menu to complete the immersion into the seaside atmosphere. sometimes you may wait a bit for your food but you'll be happy when it comes. Decent wine pairings when everything is in stock. Doooooooooo eeeeeeeeeettt!

    Half and Half

Was really excited when sel de mer opened up! The food really is excellent, prices are great and I love how the menu changes weekly. That being said, my only complaint really is with service. People who work there are very nice, but the last several times I ate there I waited almost an hour for my food...even during breakfast for french toast and eggs. No apologies for delay or even acknowledgment...which is disappointing and doesn't help the tension of a grumbling stomach. Wish they gave you some bread to nosh on while waiting for breakfast. Dinner is typically quicker....if you're going for brunch make sure you're not hungover and in desperate need of food...cause you'll wait. Overall, great addition to the neighborhood... just need to work out some kinks.

    Really close

Very excited to have a seafood restaurant in the neighborhood (note that most of the fish options are specials and not on the menu), we were equally excited to learn that they can now finally serve beer and wine. The clam chowder was good - It included lots of potato and corn, however the wedge salad was a disaster. There was little to no dressing, although that may have been a blessing as the dressing was very watery. The entrees, a wild bass over artichoke risotto and fish sliders, were pretty solid. While there is definitely value for money here, I didn't find the portions to be particularly remarkable.
