    The two D's

My mother and I have walked by this restaurant numerous times and have looked at the menu and moved on. One evening we decided to bite the bullet and try it. The service was polite, the food was dreadful and disappointing! This could explain why every time we pass by there are so few people inside. However on the night we dined, business seemed to be thriving. The paella's rice was disappointing, it had the consistency of risotto than the fluffiness you would expect. The seafood, both shrimp and calamari were canned. The mussels were tiny as well and I should have known better than to order this in a non-Spanish restaurant, so, partially the fault of the diner. The Hangar Steak with the Potato . . . let me put it this way, the potato was the best part of the meal. The sauce was very peppery, almost too peppery for me. The hangar steak which I ordered as medium rare came out more medium. The vegetables were peppery also. The Caesar salad was not the best, in fact my mother makes a better one at home. It needed anchovies and less cheese, the lettuce was watery and it was in desperate need of seasoning. Needless to say, we will not be returning to this restaurant

    Not recommended

I have never had such a bad meal. The chicken taco appetizer had bones or gristle in it & the heat was overwhelming & I like hot. The artichoke dish tasted like it came out of a marinated jar of artichokes. The wholewheat pasta was microwaved & had a creamy sauce. We will never patronize this place again!

    Excellent

I really cannot understand what the negatves are. My daughter and i went there last week and we both had the $25 prixe-fixe. She had the mussels to start, and it was a large plate, very tasty, and no sand. I had the salad which was perfectly dressed. She then had hanger steak with mashed potatos and it was excellent. The meat was soft and the potatos were very nice. i had the pasta with a meat sauce and it tasted very fresh, not canned. Both of us had the balckberry sorbet for dessert. I don't know why anyone would put the place down. Service was excellent, we never asked for water, and the bread was fresh and hot. There was alittle amuse bouce of roasted beets with balsamic reduction to start. I will definitely be back.

    Another bust at this location

I've lived in the area for a long time and know the history of this spot. I was very happy with the former restaurant Le Petit Marche. Then the owners changed chefs and the restaurant went downhill . It reoped under Bread and Butter, which failed in less than a year. Now it reoped as Seaons (with same interior space at Bread and Butter). Based on my one (and will be only visit), Seasons is destined to fail too. The food was average to below average. The tart was disappointing...a buritto wrap with a few pieces of brie and prunes on it. The fries with the burger were wilted and lacked an flavor. The burger itself was nothing special. Not to mention, everytime I walk by the restaurant it's empty. I was hesitant to go in and wished I went with my gut and swittched couse to Noodle Pudding.

    Yummy!

I arrived at Seasons in search of Bread and Butter and was sad the B&B was gone. However, I was pleasantly surprised by what was a great meal. They offered a hanger steak amuse bouche and kindly created an alternative for me (a vegetarian), while my boyfriend enjoyed his. The ricotta soup certainly was creamy, but I absolutely loved it and my vegetarian plate was great- absolutley perfect creamed spinach. My boyfriend liked his meat dish and we loved the coconut panna cotta. The service was excellent, and we both liked our wine as well as the food. Will be going back!

Quantity over quality? Not a good choice

Past the excitement of a new restaurant in the Heights, I was mostly disappointed with my diner. Stale bread basket was a very bad start (biggest problem with this is quantity over quality...) amuse: mayo drenched "crab" cake. not sure if there was crab, just tasted mayo. Apps: the parfait of my gf was fine, my ricotta soup was a big bowl of cream with little taste (the tomato gratine promised on the menu could have saved the dish if they had put enough for me to taste it...). main course: the fried chicken was uneven (also, note it's a fairly spicy dish): moist meat but soggy outside, the mac and cheese again tasted bland (I don't need such a big portion of something bland, just give me a smaller one of something good...), the snow peas were nicely cooked but served with way too much butter. My gf's braised beef was all right, again missing the mark on the side though (again a large portion of a starchy herby puree). Dessert was uneventful with a trio of ok but non memorable things. All in, good enough to eat, not too expensive but would I go back? No
