I have never waited so long for food in a vegan restaurant and have been vegan for 20+ years. When the food finally did arrive, it was disappointing to received string beans and greens that had been cooked to the point of having no nutritional value, over done. The whole point of veganism for me was optimal nutritional value, that cannot be obtained through over cooking vegetables. The warm kale salad was delicious, however it too was cooked. I don't think overly processed meat substitutes and over cooked vegetables really fit the bill of a vegan restaurant. The waitstaff was practicly non-existant. I was there at 4pm on Sunday afternoon, waited way too long for my food to arrive, and saw no one to discuss my disappointment with when those vegetables had been cooked so long they were nearly grey.

Thrilled to find a new vegan restaurant above 96th Street and welcome this addition to the neighborhood. I went in and placed and order, waited nearly 60 minutes for the days special to make it to the table. The kitchen staff is slow and the front of house are undertrained. It took the waiter 15 minutes to bring a requested glass of water to my table, 20 minutes to retrieve a can of soda which he served without a glass of ice, unopened and without a straw. He seemed preoccupied with staring into the open kitchen window. The food finally arrived and it was medioce at best. The dinner special of vegan pepper steak was oddly sweet, however I devoured it as I was ravenous after that staggeringly long wait. I left still hungry, daring not place an order for any additional menu item that would take an eternity to prepare. In order to take me leave, I elected to walk my tab to be rung out after my check and card sat ignored on my table for another 15 minutes. The menu looked good, however don't have the patience for the wait involved with exploring it any further.
