Tired Thai
I ate here recently after having eaten at other SEA locations in NYC, which are generally delicious. In the meatpacking location, the food was very blah. The dumplings were not hot and seemed to have been sitting around for a while before being served. The fish came out piping hot but very overcooked, as if by an amateur chef. Not impressive considering we ordered the most expensive entrees on the menu. I wouldn't go back.

Taking a long time
It is a tuesday night. Its been two hours and we are still without food. They said the food was on its way 30 minutes ago. They are delivering only five blocks away. Absurd.

Just OK
Blasting music that obliterated any possible conversation. We asked to sit outside on a hot afternoon to escape it. Food was forgettable. This was my second meal here and it fell short of the first. Are they cutting back on veggies??! A few months ago dishes had ample veggies, this time hardly any, and it's summer!!! We were a party of four and everyone felt the same. - We were also charged for a drink we hadn't ordered, but wait staff quickly adjusted our check. Overall, I'd say there's much better Thai in NYC. This place isn't as good as it had been.

Thai surprise
SEA Thai helped us host a surprise party on a Saturday night, set us up with the private room upstairs. Service was great, attentive and fast. No sooner had we ordered a bevy of appetizers did they start arriving. Drinks flowed, were plentiful, they brought us Thai beer, the whole experience was great --even for a handful of first-time Thai food eaters. The food was really good, very affordable. Would definitely go back. The upstairs atmosphere is a bit different from downstairs and things most certainly get louder as the night goes on, but I think you can say that about any restaurant in the Meat Packing area.

Poot service, not worth it!
Made a reservation for 16 people for my husbands birthday, once we showed up Sea made us wait for 45 mins before we could be seated. So what's the point in making a reservation then? When we talked to management they were useless and definitely had no regard for the customer. What is the likelihood of coming back/recommending Sea to anyone? Save time and money go somewhere else!

Great ambiance, delish food.
The food was delicious and majority of the menu was fairly priced and affordable (my cocktail drink cost more than my main meal!) the restaurant was very chic and trendy. The service on the other hand was just okay. They did their best to accomodate our needs but it just seemed very unorganized. If you are going for a surprise birthday dinner, make sure you are ontop of the details.

Never will return!
I had been to Sea a couple of times, and while its always mediocre, it seemed like an easy restaurant since we had plans in the meatpacking district. I called a week in advance to make birthday reservations for a Saturday night for seven peple. Then, the day of, I called to confirm. Good thing I did becuase they had no record of the reservation! However, the real reason I will never return is that the hostess seemed entirely and totally unconcerned that they messed up and were totally unaccomodating in trying to fix the problem. He even had the nerve to tell me well maybe you could come a MONDAY night- after I had explaine d this was for a birthday! Eventually we ended up going somewhere else but not before a huge amount of hassle and stress. Thanks, Sea for ruining my birthday.
