    Good Ambiance, Bad Food

The good: beautiful, large, trendy, hip, cool space, good drinks, reasonable prices on the food The bad: crowded, quick "in and out" vibe from waiters, food is subpar, seems microwaved Go for the fun ambiance but don't expect great Thai food.

Ideal trendy, hip spot for a date

I love this place. A guy took me here yesterday and I loved the scene.. Very dim and night atmosphere .. The wait was forever for a table ..but well worth.. highly recommended.

    Swanky

SEA is worth the trip out to Billyburg. The place is huge and gorgeously appointed. A large buddha sits at the head of an indoor lotus pond. The bathroom area alone is memorable, and I mean that in a positive sense. The restaurant is packed on a weekend night, with the wait easily being an hour or more, but once you've gotten your number you can enjoy a tropical drink at the bar surrounded by scenesters in a beautiful setting anyway, so nothing lost. The food itself is surprisingly cheap and pretty tasty.

Worth the quick trip on the L train

I have been to Sea in Brooklyn twice and loved it both times. The menu is very reasonable the portions are huge. The atmosphere is great. You feel like you are in a swanky Soho or Village restaurant without those swanky prices.

    Yum

I absolutely love Thai food, so this was a special treat of a restaurant to attend, with, as another reviewer said, quite impressive decor for such cheap prices. I ordered the medium spicy curry chicken, which was delicious, abundant, and not at all heartburn-inducing. The service was kind, quick, and efficient, so I felt more than catered to. Definitely returning for spicier fare.

On Saturday you'll wait at the bar

Guaranteed, you're going to have to wait possibly over 1 hour on Fridays and Saturdays, but it's worth it if you like to drink. No reservations for small parties. Hang out at the bar and keep your eyes on the ticker. This place serves up your dishes fast - they operate like a well oiled machine. Consistently typical Thai food: very sweet dishes, very low prices, lots of fun. My friends and I like to eat family style - so everyone shares everything and we order a lot! The most important thing to watch out for is seating for large parties, they sometimes seat 6 or more on benches without backs - and that would be my only complaint, because I like to lean back. Insist on chairs. Besides that, its a wonderful, large and busy restaurant, lots of mixed crowds and worth the ride to Williamsburg. Mon, Tues, Wed its quieter and a good spot for a date.
