    Third Time the Charm

This was my 3rd time going to this restaurant over about a two year period. Used to be beautiful, very quiet restaurant with pretty good food. Still very beautiful but, now it is a real seen. Long wait for a table. I agree with a previous reviewer that the bar made the wait easier but, at approx $25 for two drinks it was definitely costly. Pomegranate Mojito; good, passion fruit creme; delicious!! The Shrimp skewer Appetizers were decent Fried rice was excellent. We had the spiciest curry (I like it hot!!) Fantastic!! Not just hot but, filled with flavor. I could almost forgive the deafening Techno music.

    A GREAT EXPERIENCE

I visited Sea after giving it a break for awhile with a friend visiting from Puerto Rico and one from Maryland. We all enjoyed our food and I have to admit, Sea had been losing it's touch but the food was fresh, tasty and satisfying. A good place to take friends from out of town for a good dining experience.

Be ready when going out to "Sea"

This restaurant is the kind one would find in an upscaled neighborhood somewhere in Manhattan... but since it's in Brooklyn, it has easily become a local hotspot, which accounts for both it's alluring success and discouraging large crowds.(sounds weird... I know) Food Quality- good... but the dishes are aesthetically apetizing, which may bump it a notch. Atmosphere- is more of a place to see and be seen. The restaurant is beautiful... something I cannot stress enough... but the large crowds do make this place louder and more cramp than it usually is, especially on the weekend. Value & Service- since there is a large crowd service is slow, but it is something I am willing to tolerate... once and a while.... once a month. It's a great restaurant, but the large crowds may drive you away, but the strong drinks at the bar may convince you to stay... they did me.

Decent food, romantic atmosphere, poor service

Now I don't know if it's that I just always go on a bad night... but I always find the service to be subpar. Last time I was there, the waiter was pretty oblvious. I don't think I ask for too much, but it took about 10 minutes after being seated to take our drink order... And after we placed our drink and appetizer order AND received them AND finished eating them, I had to call the waiter over to let him know that we wanted to order our entrees. He never came to our table to ask how things were or if we needed anything. We had to prompt pretty much all communications if we wanted to get any type of service. The good: The food is descent and the fried rice is actually quite excellent. No need for additional flavoring there! I've had their dumplings which are good. And their Pad see ewe which is decent. It's very dark and romantic... good first date place, though I'll forewarn you that everyone else thinks so too, so don't be surprised if you see bright flashes throughout your dinner.

    Very Impressed

I am a pretty harsh critic, but one would be hard pressed to find a bad aspect of this place. We went in at 6pm on a Monday night, we were seated immediately at one of the poolside tables. Our drinks arrived immediately and the appetizers were out within minutes. We ordered the martini shrimp, Jade dumplings, a seafood special and salmon. Overall, all the seafood dishes were amazing! i would make the trip from manhattan to Brooklyn for Sea anytime.

    Not Impressed w/the Entrees

I recently went to Sea with a party of 10. We waited about 90 mins to be seated. When we were seated, they place us at a table that was pretty much squished up against 2 other crowded tables. This wouldn't have been so bad if one of our party members wasn't 6'8". We ordered drinks & apps to start. I had the pomegranate mojito but you couldn't taste the flavoring at all. They were, however, generous with the liquor so that wasn't so bad. I had the jade dumplings but I substituted the dipping sauce with the one from the tup tim fritters. It was tasty but it took forever to arrive. I received it 10 mins after everyone elses apps arrived, because of this I ended up sampling theirs. The calamari was delicious. For my entree I ordered the pad thai & asked that they not put chicken (I hate chicken) the waiter said they would only put shrimp & once again I was the last to receive my meal about 15 mins after everyone. I tasted everyones entrees as I waited. The shrimp fried rice was undesireable, the dark ocean was horrible & used bad cuts of beef, the salmon was awesome. Finally my dish arrives but it was chicken pad thai instead of shrimp. At this point I was pissed but still hungry so I waited another 20 mins for my food & there were only 4 shrimp on my plate. The noodles were lacking that spicyness that really good pad thai usually has. Overall I was pretty disappointed. If I had to go back it would be strictly for apps

    Great food for the price

I went here with a few friends and besides the atmosphere, music and friendly servers, the food was great. I wouldn't say its the best Thai Food I've had but it comes pretty close and you can't beat the prices.
