Don't waste your time
For those of you who truly know what authentic Italian food tastes like, well don't waste your time here. Disappointment is at hand. The pasta dish was bland and the small portion served left you wondering if they forgot the other half in the kitchen, especially when considering the price for it! On top of that, the server overcharged my credit card and when I called the manager he was beyond arrogant and unaccommodating.

ehhh...
The atmosphere is pleasant although the bar area with flat screen makes it feel a little bit like a chain restaurant. Menu is nice although overpriced just like it's neighbors across the street. The buffala mozzarella over crostini with dried tuffles was delicious but the meatballs w/polenta and gnocci were bland.

real Italian, small portions, big prices
Scuderia is right on 6th Av, with outside tables and a nice inside ambiance (including a comfortable looking bar). The food is good, and the manager is actually Italian. However, the portion sizes are pretty small (which I actually think it's a good thing) and yet accompanied by somewhat hefty prizes. You can find as good a place for less if you walk away from 6th on Bleecker or Cornelia. Still, try their fava beans with pecorino appetizer and their pizza with egg and spinach.

love this place!
I recently went here with a very large party of girls. From start to finish this was an amazing experience. The staff was amazingly friendly and personable, and certainly went the extra mile. We ordered a bunch of different things, and everyone had a delicious meal. We were surprised at how affordable the bill was too! We will definitely be coming back here. The vibe is really fun, and the food is fab.

Why all the bad reviews?
I was hesitant to try this place after reading the reviews here--but it's too close to my apartment for me not to try just once. Now that I have tried I will certainly be back. I was very pleased with every aspect of my dinner. The service was very attentive and pleasant, the food was affordable and delicious. The fried squash blossoms are in season and were cooked to perfection. The pastas were perfectly al dente and tasty. Save room for the Nutella pizzetta--delish! Highly recommended for groups and a casual night out.

Jalapeno Surprise
Ordered eggs with spinach and there mixed with bits of jalapeno peppers that made it very spicy. The other guests at my table thought their meals were average at best. Cood decor but just another overrated silvano spot.

Lunch great one day, Brunch the next day not so great...
I ate here with my BF with his little girls and a dog in tow. We had a fantastic lunch, Meatball appetizer, Beet salad were both delicious. As for the entrees both we incredibly tasty, I had the Lamb pasta, and he had the Spicy sausage pizza. Our server was female and very pleasant. The host was accommodating making an outside table for us to sit with our dog. It was a scene across the street so it was a nice alternative. I returned with a friend the next day for brunch, which was nonexistent, there were 2 brunch items on the menu, but they were not described accurately, and the portions were small, the egg tartufo was tasty, but the eggs with tomato were not so tasty and to spicy. We needed more food!! I will definitely try it again as I live across the street!
