First the snooty hostess was miffed that we didn't have a reservation for the empty restaurant. The unlimited mimosas were watered down. The food was just ok absolutely nothing special. We had about five waiters none of them knew much. The best part is that it took 20 minutes to run three credit cards and they double charged my friend. Total bust will never return.

Went to Scottadito on Father's Day. The appetizers were good, I have to admit. However, an hour later, no food had arrived. The waitress explained they were very busy, but there were five empty tables and two families seated after us had both received their food. Obviously, not true. Two of the four dishes then came out. When asked where the other two were, the waitress said, again, they were very busy. Too busy to complete the rest of the table? Fairly stupid excuse. Staff kept coming over and apologizing, but were not capable of making the two remaining pasta dishes. My chicken parmigiana was flavorless, just like a previous reviewer said. Hard to imagine, but absolutely true. To top it off, there was a bone the size of a finger in the chicken cutlet. I pointed it out to the waitress, who went back to the kitchen, returned, and told me it was supposed to be there. Chicken parm on the bone? Really? The manager said they were embarrassed by the ridiculous wait and said they wanted us to return and would take care of a portion of the bill. They subtracted two sodas off, nothing else. Even if the service miraculously improved, the kitchen is obviously in disarray if a half empty restaurant is too much for them and they cannot make a halfway decent chicken parmigiana. What a shame that such a nice looking restaurant in a prime location is so incompetent.

We are long time slopers who have just returned to the neighborhood, my husband recalls going a few years back but I was never there. I am really glad a place like this is available here because the value was just right when you don't want to leave the hood to go 'out'. There seems to be mixed reviews here but I tried everyone's entrees and with the exception of the eggplant parm which my husband liked but I felt a bit dry- I thought the pastas were prepared really well and had lots of flavor (orrechiete with sausage and broccoli rabe had a kick to it and an organic whole wheat rotini with zucchini, eggplant, plum tom. sauce and, ricotta salata was tasty). My grilled tuna was ok - definitely fresh but the best dish of the night was fresh burrata salad - with perfect burrata, baby beets and artichokes- an excellent value given I'd had a simpler caprese version in Manhattan the night before with ok tomatoes only and not even balsamic for 1/4 the price more. Cant speak for desserts except for the perfect homemade gelato which was brought out complimentary because they had run out of another dessert we ordered. Service was very good- unobtrusive and knowledgeable about their dishes and descriptions which is a real plus these days. Wine service was done well with a good value wine we loved from a previous restaurant (again, cheaper by more than 10%). Room noise in the back was louder than I'd have liked it to be because a table for 8 was sitting on the other side and the high ceilings amplify the din, but then again, we asked for the back. Do not hesitate to try this place.- you won't regret it I have no idea who the last 2 raters were but how the heck do you have 'tasteless egg and parmigiana cheese?"

I really wanted it to be good. The atmosphere is very nice and it would be reassuring to have a nice Italian restaurant close to my house. I tried 3 times and it was mediocre. The 3rd time I ordered bucatini alla carbonara and they were totally tasteless. The guanciale was tasteless, the egg were tasteless, even the parmesan cheese on top had very little flavor. That's it. No more Scottadito for me.

Upon our arrival at 4:55 pm on Mother's Day we were told that the kitcken was closed until 5 pm. We were not seated but another waiter took other diners while we were standing to see if we would be seated. Service was extremely slow and the waiter was fresh calling me"sweetie". They need to train their staff on how to treat their diners. Also the food was disappointing and tasted like it was frozen food put in the microwave and then added mozarella cheese to it. In the future I will go to Sheepshead Bay where they know how to treat diners and their food is excellent prepared and cooked. Will not recommend this restaurant to anyone. What a let down on Mother's Day.

Had a great dinner here last night. Delicious cauliflower/carrot/ginger soup, a salad of goat cheese, walnuts and greens, pasta with three kinds of mushrooms (the only dish just short of perfect) and a delicious apple tart with gelato. The service was atttentive without being intrusive. We were offered liqueurs on the house at the end of our meal. Everyone enjoyed their food. The restaurant has a relaxed feel to it and unlike so many places, it wasn't too noisy! Will definitely come back for more.

the woman who answered the phone was rude, the food was obviously fresh and of good quality, but was bland and starchy. (burrata and bucatini al amatriciana) also, she didn't ask for an apartment number, so the poor delivery man had to ask someone on the street to call me, because he didn't have a mobile phone. at least he took the initiative instead of walking back over to the restaurant. also, it took forever. sad meal at end of a long day!
