Falls Short
Cool looking place but that's about it, Hostess was very nice and hooked us up fast. The Bar Steak and fries were okay ,beer was warm and the servers were a bunch of idiots.Even the Balthazar products were sub par.

Talk about an attitude
Schillers, a place where you can only make a reservation for 4 hours total of the day (and two are for lunch) So you would think that with a reservation durring those two hours it would take less that 1 hr and 20 min to be seated! When I asked what was taking so long I was told that if I didn't want to eat here I could just go.! I was shoved inumerable times and ushered by wait staff to every diffrent corner of the resturant since apparently none of them were "good places to stand" ounce seated the food was great the drinks were great and we had a blast. But the wait staff was still super rude throughout. I see ne reason for any of this. All the people in my group were dressed appropriately cortious and accomidating not to mention we had a reservation. The people there were the regular ny cool crowd. Trust me you could get food and prinks just as good elsewhere without the attitude

Odeon, Baltizar, Pastis & Now Schillers.
They said all these places were pompus and aloof, but I have found the staffs of all to be courteous, efficient, knowledgable and child friendly. The food we had at Schiller's was very good. The fish & chips, the pot roast special, the chocolate pudding pie and the sticky pudding all were delicious. The pot roast didn't need a knife! The cocktails were exceptional. My wife had a ginger martini. I don't like vodka, but would order this in a minute. I had the best manhattan here including Dale Degroff. My daughter's egg cream was as good as the best corner sweet shop.... Louie Dombrowski would have been proud. I want to go back for the welsh rarrbit...yum...give this place a try, but going earlier is better....The people at the door are real pros.

Packed
The place was packed, the wait was long but the staff was pleasant (I wouldn't be, having to trump through stacks of people with my customer's drinks) but food was fast, very good and there was a lot of choice. It's loud and the people are pretty, but it's new so that might change....definitely a place to try.
