Brunch going downhill?
We had a pretty disappointing breakfast at Schiller's today - greasy and unappetizing. The eggs over easy were coated in butter, a bit slimy and lukewarm. The toast was cold and so crunchy it was ready to be made into croutons. The sausages are big tough links that tastes like it is precooked and refried. And the potatoes are deepfried, so very heavy. The only really decent ( I still wouldn't say memorable, just on par with what you'd expect) thing was the pain au chocolat but that was baked at Balthazar. I feel bloated! Friends had the Eggs Norwegian and the Huevos Rancheros and found them equally disappointing, with the same bad toast and potatoes. I'm surprised! Very much like the heavy bad breakfasts I used to get in England at the school cafeteria. Service and atmosphere still awesome but the food was a lot better in the past. Maybe the chef needs to tweak things up a bit. Till then I will go to other neighborhood faves from now on unless I just want the pretty atmosphere, and then I'll drink their tasty wine not eat breakfast!

Loved it
Finally! A place with good food, great atmosphere and best of all, attentive and knowledgable service! I dined there last Friday with my wife and some friends. The place looked full yet we were greeted and seated within minutes. Our server, who was covered in interesting tattoos, was such a delight! He made sure our experience was flawless. It's a great place filled with character from the decor to the menu. I will revisit often.

Dinner for one
Schiller's is a great place to eat by yourself. They have a large selection. The liquor is reasonably priced too. Good place to go for comfort food.

Nice place
It's definitely best when it's almost empty (early evening around 6 or 7), as the night wears on it gets more annoying. The menu has some nice choices and the lighting is perfect (not too bright, not too dark, and most importantly, flattering!).

Funky busy - great food
We had the best night out here, steak with a great bernaise sauce and roasted chicken, the service was fast, amazingly so as the queue was out the door and it was packed out. My only advice - the wine ratings are generous, go for the best! Definitely worth a go!

Great Dinner
Had dinner last night for valentines and the food was great. My meal: excellent leg of lamb and the wine also a great value. Having read all of the other reviews that were negative I feel that they must have been on a off night. This resturant ROCKS!

Best Cuban Sandwich
Ok, I'll have to admit, not everything on their menu is that great (steak frites for example), and some of its definitely overpriced. But the cuban sandwich was delicious! Huge portion and a good size of fries to accompany. The wine carafes are a good deal! And we sat at the bar and had great service, our water was always refilled and the bartender asked me if i'd like to taste the wine before I committed to ordering it.
