always great!
This is a solid and consistent restaurant - always great in NY and just as good in Miami! Excellent chef and phenomenal food - the spaghetti with tomato and basil is an absolute delight!

Amazing Italian in Meatpacking
I went to Scarpetta with some friends last night and it was amazing. Both my husband and I agreed that it was head and shoulders above A Voce Columbus (where we dined just a few days ago). The bread basket was delicious, as were the dips it came with. Both the polenta with mushrooms appetizer and the spaghetti with tomato and basil were outstanding and we basically fought over them. The tuna suschi and fritto misto were winners too. All of the pastas were delicious, although the black tagliolini with seafood was our least favorite of the bunch. As for desserts, my pick was the olive oil cake and it was perfect.

Run don't walk..
Had an absolutely fabulous total dining experience from start to finish. There were 4 of us that ordered 4 different appetizers, 4 different entrees and 4 different desserts and one was better than the next. The polenta is NOT TO BE MISSED..OUT-STAND-ING!! Treat yourself and someone else to an all around great dining evening. AND, to top if off Chef Conant came to our table at the end of the evening. Enjoy!!

great evening from beginning to end!
Had the most wonderful evening that started out with the maitre'd, Dean. He made sure we had a great table for our anniversary dinner. The food, Polenta as starter, Duck pasta, rabbit pasta then venison entre couldn't have been more delicious. The wines beautifully paried with each course. Everyone at Scarpetta made the evening one to remember. Bravo!

The best restaurant in the Meatpacking District
Had a great dinner at Scarpetta last year and another yesterday. The food is still amazing although the crowd is not as chic, maybe because it's August and the tourists have gotten wind of it-- Didn't have their great pasta this time, only fish. The raw yellowtail and the susci (tuna) as starters, good enough to be Nobu- the halibut and the bass. All were excellent- Great wine, a molten chocolate cake for dessert and excellent expresso! Service was superlative and then, after we had already crossed the street, there was the waiter, slipping me my forgotton American Express card! Go!

Polenta And Pasta From Heaven
The polenta appetizer was lick the plate good! And the fresh home made pasta with tomato and basil was fantastic. Everything was perfect - from the proseco and complementary freshly fried chips with Italian seasonings at the bar, to the excellent service and atmosphere. The menu is nouvelle eclectic (from an Italian perspective), but, that said, every dish is made to perfection. Bravo!

What a Diff !
Eating at Scarpetta and Convivio in the course of the same week is quite a great luxury. The difference in service is extraordinary. Charming waiter well versed in every option @ Scarpetta as opposed to just going through motions staff @ Convivio Simple things like what's in a breadbasket and how it's presented make this restaurant professional but inviting, and just a more pleasurable experience . The food is amazing with a "pasta w/tomato and basil affording a great chef the opportunity to demonstrate how this "simple" dish can transend when done perfectly.....As to the space, some may call the light from the retractable roof too harsh, but after this winter it's glorious and so is Scarpetta...
