Scalino's is one of the only places that serves an authentic oxtail special. That's what drew me in originally. What encouraged me to keep going back is the freshness of the food and the attentive, pleasant staff. You can tell they don't scrimp on product, and they cook from scratch authentic northern Italian cuisine. Nice wine selection as well. Always a good meal here.

I got the papperdelle wtih creamy tomato and smoked bacon, as well as the chicken milanese. Both were absolutely delicious. And it was all the more delicious when we got the check! Great find, definitely coming back soon.

Food is very good, simple recipe and very affordable! Scalino is one of my favorite restaurants in Park Slope! their pasta is the best, it's homemade pasta always cooked perfectly, you can tell that they use good quality produce!

Let's get straight to the point.. The pasta plates are divine, ALL of them! So are the desserts. The salads are refreshing, as is the wine. It's a small place, but friendly, casual, and warm. Whenever you get the chance, please stop in!

In my opinion Scalino is one of the few really great restaurants in the Slope. The wait staff are always friendly and accommodating and the food terrific. We love the oxtail, the stellar Italian red wines, and flavorful bolognese sauce. Food is always fresh and we always leave satisfied. One of my 'go to' places for a dinner or brunch out.

This really is a little jewel of a place perched on the corner of 10th street and 7th avenue in a too-small storefront. Truly fabulous food carefully prepared. My mouth waters when I think of this place! I wish it were a bit bigger and more comfy--but you'll be hooked on their delicious pastas, fresh fat scallops, tender and flavorful meats and fish. The main waiter is a character (in a good way) and there's a laid-back vibe but they don't leave you waiting or feeling unseen. They have a very faithful following of locals and they try to remember you. Some of their simplest dishes are divine---tomato-cream sauce on freshly made pasta with small pieces of smoked bacon. SLURP. I'm not too easy to please, people. I think most restaurants are terminally mediocre. They focus on the food here, not the ambiance. But you'll feel like you're in Europe. This one is a keeper.
