Splendid as Always
Scalini is one of the finest dining establishments that I have ever been to. I frequent the NY area dozens of times a year on business and have eaten at most of the highest rated restaurants around. Scalini's food is truly fantastic with a wonderful service staff and amazing decor. This is one of the places I always try to eat at with both clients and my family.

Always Impeccable
I was here in Sept. for my boyfriends birthday. This time we came for Christmas Eve dinner. It was nice to bring family this time and have them be impressed by this restaurant. Again the quality of the food and service is among the best in the city. I highly recommend anyone who loves Italian cuisine to visit.

New Year's Eve
We have been coming here for the past 5 years on new Year's Eve & this was the best one ever! We were remembered from past years & given some freebies. The staff inspired the friendly atmosphere. This inspired everyone to feel at home enough to talk to their neighbor & make friends. As always, the food was fabulous! Foi Gras, Duck, Short Ribs & excellent desserts. The service was beyond compare. We will always come back for more.

Spectacular
One of the best Italian restuarants in the city and certainly the best Italian in Tribeca. The duck is especially marvelous. The food is impeccable, the service great, and the decor splendid.

Disappointed
I can not believe that this restaurant is rated as high as it is. I have been to the finest places to eat in NYC, Europe and elsewhere and I was never so disappointed. I took my boyfriend for his b-day and expected an over the top experience. The place did not have a romantic atmosphere at all...it was very bright, most people were dressed very casually and it was half empty. We ordered a nice bottle of wine and when they brought the food...it was almost as if they were trying to turn over the table as fast as possible. All the courses came out with maybe 7 minutes in between them and our waiter switched at least 3 times during the meal. The food was fair at best and the nicest part was the dessert. The apple tart and the cheesecake. Upon leaving, they gave me a departing gift of 3 broken biscotti in a bag. For a $300 dinner.....I would not go back.

One of the best
I never write reviews although I go out to eat at least 2-3 times a week and eating at nice places is a hobby of mine. I have to say that this is ONE OF THE BEST restaurants i have been to in NYC. It is on par with the best which I believe to be Bouley, Jeans George, Daniel, and Ryland Inn in NJ. The food, service, atmosphere are so complimenting and nothing about the meal was too much or too little. I will be a frequenter there from now on. I cannot say one thing bad about this expertly run operation.

Fantastic
I took my bf here for his birthday. This place really blew us away. It's gorgeous - yellow vaulted ceilings in a warm setting. Downstairs is a wine cellar which at the time was being used for a private party. The service was outstanding - attentive waiter w/a great knowledge of the food and wine. Right after we ordered a taste of what to come was given to us - a sample of mushroom ravioli. It was so impressive we could have asked for more. Each course that was given to us was well prepaired. We left stuffed. Truly a great experience - We'll be returning shortly.
