I know they are brand new but....

We live in the neighborhood and gave this place a try on Saturday night. The room looks great, it's loud but that's the point - the crowd the night we were there was pretty much bridge & tunnel. The prices are very reasonable and the food was pretty good. We shared a bunch of empenadas to start, I had the ropa Vieja for dinner and my partner had the Paella. My meal was pretty tasty, my friend complained though that the lobster in his paella was a weird texture and kind of tasteless. The service could be better - our waiter was a little over zealous about getting our order the second we sat down, he asked us if we wanted to see the house drink list and then stood there while we reviewed it. we placed our drink orders and before we got the drinks he was back asking us if we were ready to order, c'mon give us a minute will you? There we plenty of empty tables so it wasn't like they were in a hurry to turn our table. There were plenty of "Reserved" signs on certain tables that never were sat the entire time we were there and we left after midnight. For someone so in a hurry to get our order but kept forgetting important things like lobster cracker, cocktail forks and shell bowls - a little difficult to eat a lobster without this stuff. it arrived pretty much as we were finished. The grilled vegetable side was very abundant but pretty much cold by the time we got it (a few minutes after the entrees arrived). The white sangria is a little too sweet for me but the red sangria was better. One other turn off are the managers running around with their "Secret Service" ear phones - there were about 5 of them the night we were there all running around like keystone cops, but for no real reason that I could see, each one came over and asked how everything was, a little over kill for my taste. All in all I would give this another try - I do hope they work the kinks out and it becomes a welcome affordable place in Tribeca.
