    Very happy with our experience!

My fiance and I celebrated her 26th birthday at Savoy and we found the ambiance, service, and food to all be excellent. The prices were very fair for the quality and quantity of our meals, and the staff was very friendly and inviting. The appetizers were amazing! We even took a chance on a dish recommended by the server that featured blood oranges and fetta cheese. We were not disappointed. The entire meal was absolutely satisfactory and we will be returning again as well as recommending the restaurant to friends and family.

    What happened ?

Dinner was much anticipated after several wonderful meals at Savoy. The four of us sat upstairs, comfy and pretty, very excellent service, but oh the food !!! A roast suckling pig - strangely rolled - had a yummy crispy skin but the inside was inedibly fatty and strange tasting. Lamb 3 ways was simply awful, way undercooked, bad tasting and chewy. Not even desert made things better. I am suffering from a broken heart - I love this place. What happened ?

    Amazing

I have never written a review before but my dinner last night at Savoy warrants a rave! I started off with the Kuri squash appetizer which was surprisingly light despite the brown butter sauce on top and completely delightful. I followed up with the monk fish which was so interesting and absolutely divine! It was wonderful how quiet the restaurant was. Great place to go to talk or take your parents. I am not kidding when i say the food was sublime!

    PRICEY but sooooo good!

Often times when my girlfriend and I go to restaurants only one of us gets the tasty dish while the other is disappointed. Not the case at SAVOY. I had the duck and she had the poached halibut and it was sooooo good!

    Lived up to the Hype

Perhaps mgmt has been reading these negative posts, because we had an excellent experience. First of all we came 15min late and they still sat us right away. Second, our waitress was very attentive and our food came out in proper intervals. Be sure to sit on the second floor if you want more of a romantic setting.. We had a full course meal and it costs me and my wife $175. Definitely not cheap, but was worth it. FYI, the Halibut was amazing.

    Won't Be Returning

Poor service. Stopped here after visiting the Rock n Roll Hall of Fame NYC Annex and was disappointed. The appetizers came pretty quickly but were just ok. The entrees took forever - and my two friends' chicken dishes were cold. We made the mistake of ordering a bottle of wine too, so... after a tab of over 200$, service should have been better. Overpriced for poor service. A total disappointment.

    Eh.

I can't understand how this place was rated one of the top most romantic restaurants in NYC. We were just there for V-Day '09, and it was unimpressive. We were 3 tables from the kitchen, where the door was left open, leaving bright obnoxious lights shining onto the dining floor. The food was mediocre. The waitress was curt; surprising for an expensive spot. Not worth the money.
