    PRICEY but sooooo good!

Often times when my girlfriend and I go to restaurants only one of us gets the tasty dish while the other is disappointed. Not the case at SAVOY. I had the duck and she had the poached halibut and it was sooooo good!

    Lived up to the Hype

Perhaps mgmt has been reading these negative posts, because we had an excellent experience. First of all we came 15min late and they still sat us right away. Second, our waitress was very attentive and our food came out in proper intervals. Be sure to sit on the second floor if you want more of a romantic setting.. We had a full course meal and it costs me and my wife $175. Definitely not cheap, but was worth it. FYI, the Halibut was amazing.

    Won't Be Returning

Poor service. Stopped here after visiting the Rock n Roll Hall of Fame NYC Annex and was disappointed. The appetizers came pretty quickly but were just ok. The entrees took forever - and my two friends' chicken dishes were cold. We made the mistake of ordering a bottle of wine too, so... after a tab of over 200$, service should have been better. Overpriced for poor service. A total disappointment.

    Eh.

I can't understand how this place was rated one of the top most romantic restaurants in NYC. We were just there for V-Day '09, and it was unimpressive. We were 3 tables from the kitchen, where the door was left open, leaving bright obnoxious lights shining onto the dining floor. The food was mediocre. The waitress was curt; surprising for an expensive spot. Not worth the money.

    Wonderful Experience

I took my mother to Savoy for dinner the other night, and while I hestitated because of some of the reviews on here concerning service, our experience was wonderful. The food was excellent (she had the duck I had the halibut). Part of the reason our experience was so enjoyable, aside from the food, was our waitress. She was incredibly friendly and helpful. I would definitely recommend Savoy to anyone.

    good food ruined by smugness

Going to dinner at Savoy last night with my mother and sister, I was struck by the physical beauty of the space and the deliciousness of the appetizers. The entrees had their problems (saltiness, undercooked, etc.) but were still quite good. However, all of this was overshadowed by the blatent coldness, rudeness and smugness of our very pretentious waiter. He seemed to actually show disdain for us, on varying levels, throughout the meal. Although, I have been a fan of Back Forty (Savoy's sister resturant) and enjoyed the food at Savoy, I can not see returning to a place where my family and I were treated this way. I usually do not notice service one way or the other as I am focusing on the meal itself and my company, but this was, unfortunately, impossible to ignore.

    nice surprise

My husband works in Soho and I met him for dinner last night. We walked over to Savoy and got a table by the window, next to the bar. The bartender was friendly and we enjoyed relaxing with a couple drinks. I loved the Apple 125. Great flavors mixed together.....with lime and a hint of cinnamon. We opted for 4 appetizers and a dessert. The food was fabulous (a word my husband told me I used too many times during the dinner). Our choices were the pork belly, served with green apples and blue cheese red wine risotto with escargot homemade sausage with lentils and the shrimp with pomegranate seeds. The meyer lemon tart for dessert finished the meal with flare. This was a delightful evening. Everyone was truly nice and friendly. I'd definitely go back to Savoy.
