The meat is too fatty. Decent knishes.

Sarge's is an old-fashioned deli that offers large portions of food, 24 hours a day. The atmosphere leaves a lot to be desired (very old-fashioned diner look), but the waitresses are extremely nice and helpful. They make good omelettes and sandwiches, which they also deliver. Sarge's doesn't have a low-cal menu, but it is fabulous when you want old-fashioned comfort food. The prices are a little steep for a deli, but the portions are generous.

The place is ok. Real old school. Not sure if it was just an off night (day?) but we ordered meatloaf - and it was seasoned like a salt lick. Deer would have loved it.

Everything from the blintzes to the sandwiches were phenomenal. The Chopped liver was fresh and tasty as was the soups and meats. The sandwiches were huge. Although I had only a few things from around the menu, I strongly feel that anything you order will be a safe bet. Sarge's is now open 24 hours and well worth the trip any time of day or night.

In this hood, you find the delis that send out small sandwiches and bad soup... but not here... these sandwiches are the size of your head which is a value at the price you're paying... PS the soup is really good too.

The food is very bland and the resturant lacks cleanliness and atmosphere. 2nd Ave Deli is by far the best.

By far the most underrated true deli in Manhattan. I've eaten here for years, and have yet to have a bad meal. Delivery is fast, and the individuals who take orders are top-notch! It might not be deli, but Sarge's serves the best hamburger in New York. Char-broiled to perfection...and always cooked the way it was ordered. Pastrami is what others only dream they could make. Try the cheesecake. If you like creamy smooth cheesecake, this is your nirvana. Much better than Carnegie, it is overall better than Second Avenue Deli and Katz's. They are open 24-hours, for that Pastrami hunger at 3 am.
