Sarge's is one of the few classic remaining NYC delis. The food is consistently delicious. The sandwiches are piled high with meat and the matzoh ball soup is delicious. The prices are very affordable for the quality and quantity of food. During the NYC rush lunch hour I have never waited more than a minute or two for a seat with three to four people in our party. Experience Sarge's before all of our NYC personality has gone the way of a Starbucks coffee shop.

My food took over an hour to be delivered. I called them 3 times and they kept telling me the guy was on his way. I live only 3 blocks away! And to make it worse, it was after midnight so it's not like it was a busy time. The food was not even close to good enough to warrant waiting that long. There are plenty of other deli's. Very disappointed.

Couldnt believe how much of a rip of this place is...over priced, poor quality and to top it off waited forever. Dont even hesitate to pass this place up.

The last time I ordered from them, the food came an hour late and was cold. The people on the phone refused to send me new food. I just called and I was on hold for an extremely long period of time, as if my call was forgotten.

I have been going to this place for years. It's classic NY Jewish deli, and it is GOOD. You want an excellent Matzo Ball soup and Pastrami on Rye sandwich? You got it! The sandwiches are stacked like they only do in NY, and the meat is tender and delicious. Last week I was sick. I wanted mom's cooking. Since I couldn't have that, I called Sarge's - got Chicken Noodle Soup (real, fresh broth and generous noodles, and NOT too salty), The #7 sandwich (my favorite - Turkey, Corned Beef, cole slaw and Russian dressing on Rye), and a slice of Banana Cream pie (comfort food people take note - this was VERY good.) The sandwich was so generous I got 2 meals out of it. Highly recommend this NY insitution. And yes, like mom's cooking, it fixed me right up.

i agree about the late night ordering from sarge's and just want to add that they are also one of the ONLY places in the area that are 24 hours. i love lots of stuff on the menu - chicken fingers, turkey burgers, blintzes, soup, kugel, kasha varnishkas.... the black and white cookies are out of this world. ive also had the breakfast food and enjoyed it but found it to be just a little too expensive, so i usually opt for the diner if thats what im craving.
