Tourist trap
People go to Sardi's because of the history and fame....I certainly hope not for the food. Crab cake was, well, unrecognizable in appearance and taste. Over over priced, too bright and just not worth it. Disappointed twice.

Go Elsewhere
I was expecting mediocre food and an uninspired menu, but was surprised by the incredibly poor service. The waiters cleared and set down items by reaching across the guests rather than bothering to walk around the table. Between courses, our water cleared the crumbs from the table for one of the four of us, dumping the debris onto the carpet below. The busboy refilling the water glasses sloshed water on the table and our food each time.

Good Experience and Food
Went for the business lunch. Service was prompt and the guys who worked there were really friendly! Especially the head waiter, he was very helpful in helping us select the best dishes (we follow a Halal/Kosher diet.) You might even see a celebrity or two from A list to D. I had the Broiled Mahi Mahi and the cheesecake. Both dishes were prepared really well and it came with a drink and coffee. Wish the bread they serve was warm though. All that food for $22 was a great deal. I will be back again!

Mediocrity at its best

A Little Bit of History
Well I must admit most of the reason why we ate here is because of it's reputation as a famous Manhattan restaurant. That being said, I am glad we chose Sardi's for a late night meal after the theater. The service was generally good and we were pleased with the food we ordered. The server bringing around the bread, however, left something to be desired. Just leave the bread on the table, thank youwe don't need it rationed out to us. In terms of the drinks we ordered, the Manhattan was excellentthanks to bartender Jose and the Cabernet superb. As for the atmosphere, the lights could be dimmed a bit really. As for the price? Let's face it...Times Square is pricey. Would we return for a meal? Probably not but we would return for drinks and the complimentary snacks at the bar without a doubt. Sardi's, after all, is an institution and who knows when you might have a close encounter with a celebrity. Everyone needs to dine at Sardi's at least once in their lives so give it a whirl. Life is short.

For over 40 years still a treasure...
I have never had bad service or a bad meal. The menu is always delightful. What more needs to be said.....
