    Amazing!

This is the greatest place for dosa short of Jackson Heights. It's fantastic, and such a great value. They're always super nice and accommodating for spiciness.

    Service was utterly disappointing

Visited this restaurant on 7/7/2012. Service was utterly disappointing. The server gave us the empty glass for water and disappeared for 15 min without even filling the glass. Food is average. I am from southern india, so i know how the south indian food should taste like. Except Rava dosa i didn't like any other item including sambhar. Don't ask about biryani- I had much better biryani on the streets of New York. I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone.

    Quality of food going down

I have been eating in this place since they opened in 2005. The quality of food has gone down drastically and the cost has gone up. The idlis I ordered during breakfast and dinner were old and heated in microwave. The chutney smelled.

Food declining in quality, service poor as ever

This place has always had a problem with service. They seem to take pride in having very rude waiters who rush you during your meal (before your appetizers are finished, they will bring the main course and clutter your table with huge dosas and take your plates away) They frequently make mistakes with orders, and most annoyingly, NEVER apologize. The food used to be unique and outstanding; it has both gone downhill, and now faces competition from some other local places, so this place should stop being so complacent.

    Good food but wildly overpriced

Tasty dosas and rasa vada, but far too expensive for what you get.

    Rip off

I ordered up for my kids. My daughter likes a potato curry so I asked if I could get Alu Gobi with potato only. When I received it the container was only about a 1/3 full so I counted and there was 11 bite size pieces for $11.50. When I called up to complain the woman on the phone could not stop giggling so I asked for the manager who asked what I wanted him to do and when I said "send more" he said he could not do that - all he could offer was a $3 credit. Like I would ever order from there again!

    Avoid this restaurant

This place used to be great two years ago. Now it's a dump, not worth the hassle and poor and rude service and mediocre food. The only explanation I have for the nose dive is good ol' greed. Three times in a row, I ordered exactly the same dish, got the wrong one, and to correct the problem the waiters simply rearranged the food on the plate and claimed that was what I ordered. We usually go there as a couple and on too many occasions one of our entrees would arrive and the other would arrive a full half hour later, forcing each of us to watch the other eat, instead of enjoying a meal together. We thought maybe the problem was the location. So we tried the upper west side location. No luck there either. There were only three couples in the restaurant, yet the waiter managed to mess up our orders. To top it off we received burnt dosas that they wouldn't replace. My advice, avoid, avoid, avoid. There are so many other places in the city to enjoy a great meal.
