Sarabeth's Park Avenue South

I have been to numerous Sarabeth's around the city and this one is particularly bad. First of all, the place was not even half full and they insisted on trying to give us one of the worst tables. The French toast was more like challah toast without the egg. The scrambled eggs looked like they had come out of a buffet table; they must have been sitting in the kitchen cooked since they opened that morning and they came out cold. They were definitely not cooked to order. The English muffin which is usually delicious and fresh was the consistency of a hockey puck and also cold. Add to that they got the order wrong. Do yourself a favor and go to any other Sarabeth's location which will be far superior to this restaurant they call Sarabeth's.

I don't understand. You come to the market a star, and then what? Strive for mediocrity? Met friends for early brunch 945 this morning -- the new PAS loce. The place is empty, to be expected at that hour -- so the help is standing around like asparagus. Can't they find something useful to do? We're seated at a banquette. Fine. Uh oh, not so fine. The upholstered seat just keeps descending. Suddenly I'm 6 years old sitting at a grown-up table for which I need a telephone book. No, I'm not a particularly small person; pretty average, I'd say. Is it possible that you need me to tell you that coffee carried around in a carafe for who knows how long, poured into an ice cold cup equals tepid coffee? Is there anything less appetizing or more annoying -- or, more unnecessary than tepid coffee? Okay, eggs benedict -- a cliche by anyone's measure, but I'm hooked on 'em. It's what we, all three ordered; two classic, one salmon. Anything to distinguish them as 'Sarabeth EB?' Nope. Not a thing. A hundred bucks later, what's to say? Yaaawwnnn.
