    Excellent Lunch Option

I dont usually work in midtown, but whenever I do, I always eat here. The miso ramen is great and they customize it to your preference (all for about 8 dollars)! It's the best value in midtown west and the food is delicioous. Portions are huge and takeout is fast. I've only dined-in once and the service was OK. ifyou're looking for cheap, delicious eats - this is your place!

    Consistently good

Great Miso Ramen is tough to find outside Japan. I've been coming here since the '80's when a bowl of the stuff was about $5. While the prices have gone up, the authentic, un-fancy, delicious experience has remained the same. Recommended.

    I love this place!

I work in midtown and the only restaurants in the area are either really fancy places or boring sandwich places...This place is a gem. Saporro serves enormous, delicious, filling bowls of soup for little $$..Great place.

    Sapporo is EXCELLENT

Great little Ramen spot - ideal for lunch hour for the Midtown 9-5ers and suprisingly not filled with tourists. A fantastic value, Sapporo serves big - no make that - HUGE bowls of meat, veggie and noodle packed soups that you can barely finish. The decor is not divey, not impressive, but what you would expect for a noodle spot. This little place is a gem and I highly recommend it!!

    Yum!

Delicious, satisfying soup at a reasonable price. Perfect lunch for a cold NY day. Very hearty and filling. Good bang for the buck. Wish they delivered and took credit cards.

    Great little ramen joint

The ramen at Sapporo is solidly above-average: probably not the absolute best the city has to offer, but it's really good especially considering the price point (a huge bowl is ~$8! Two people can easily leave with a tab of < $35 for an appetizer, two bowls of ramen, and two beers). The atmosphere is authentic middle-of-the-road-ramen-shop it's pleasant and the staff is welcoming, but I wouldn't go expecting Per Se. It's several cuts above eating in a Chinese takeout shop, but not quite a formal restaurant. If you liked Sapporo, check out Hagia sake bar and izakaya right downstairs.

Good place, what do people expect?

What is wrong with some people? This is a ramen shop. Ramen shops are hole in the walls in Asia. They were never meant to give you incredible service or treat you like a king for the 10 bucks you're shelling out for lunch or dinner. These kind of shops are meant to serve one purpose - give you good food at a cheap price - which is exactly what Sapporo accomplishes. The curry rice is excellent, and the gyozas are good. The noodles are also good, though there are some better once in the east village that I suggest you try out for ramen.
