Good Viet in EV
.I was a little reluctant to order from this place after only seeing six reviews. I'm glad I gave it a chance because the food was excellent. I discovered the place is relatively new thus explaining why there were few reviews. I really hope this restaurant continues to order quality provision and meats. So many of these places cut corners once they're open for a while and start using lesser quality ingredients. I'm so happy now I don't have to go all the way to the other end of Manhattan for good Vietnamese.

great pho!
I have been on the hunt for the past 14 months for a decent bowl of Pho, and I just found it! The atmosphere is nice, your typical Vietnamese restaurant, staff is attentive and the food is great. They have a decent lunch special, for $10 you get a beverage, appetizer and an entree. I've been here once a week for the past month, I'm hooked!

Thank goodness!
This is a comfortable, wonderful space for lunch or dinner, not cramped or too brightly lit. The food is fresh, authentic, and wonderful. I have had at least 6 dishes there, each carefully and authentically prepared. Just delightful and finally a workable Vietnamese place within walking distance of my apartment. Try the Tamarind Soup and Summer Rolls with Peanut Sauce.

Excellent Vietnamese in the East Village
I've been to this restaurant several times since it opened. The food is delicious and flavorful. The prices are reasonable; it's a great value. For me, the portions are more than adequate. There are few good Vietnamese places close by, so this is a great addition to the neighborhood.

Best Viet Restaurant in the City
I went here with a group of friends and we all agreed that the food was amazing. The pho are better than the Vietnamese restaurant in Chinatown. The salad entrees and the soft shell crabs are also very good. I would recommend this place to anyone that enjoy authentic Vietnamese food.

Excellent food but left hungry
We went to Sao Mai for dinner recently and I found the food to be excellent. My husband had the pho and I had the pork chop over rice. My only problem is the portion. We both left feeling a little hungry and wondered if we should have ordered an appetizer with our food. I will say that I would go back again to try the entrees that are to be served family style (i'm guessing) and hope for larger portions. None the less - a great addition to the east village!
