Excellent Vietnamese in the East Village

I've been to this restaurant several times since it opened. The food is delicious and flavorful. The prices are reasonable; it's a great value. For me, the portions are more than adequate. There are few good Vietnamese places close by, so this is a great addition to the neighborhood.

Best Viet Restaurant in the City

I went here with a group of friends and we all agreed that the food was amazing. The pho are better than the Vietnamese restaurant in Chinatown. The salad entrees and the soft shell crabs are also very good. I would recommend this place to anyone that enjoy authentic Vietnamese food.

    YAY for Vietnamese food

Great new find. Food is authentic and very fresh. Great value. I've been 4 times since they opened 3 weeks ago!

    Excellent food but left hungry

We went to Sao Mai for dinner recently and I found the food to be excellent. My husband had the pho and I had the pork chop over rice. My only problem is the portion. We both left feeling a little hungry and wondered if we should have ordered an appetizer with our food. I will say that I would go back again to try the entrees that are to be served family style (i'm guessing) and hope for larger portions. None the less - a great addition to the east village!
