Average at Best
Santa fe's food was average, something you'd whip up in your own kitchen w/ store bought canned beans, etc. And, the price was high for the type of food that was served. I don't mean to be harsh, but if you're looking for authentic mexican this isn't the place. Although I will say that they had a nice atmosphere in the bar area. I would recommend having a margarita at the bar and ordering the blackbean dip. That is where I would end it.

Marked Up and Ordinary Fare
We had high hopes for this place, but it fell short by a mile. Food was bland and boring. Staff seemed like they had never served before. Hard to believe we paid over $70 for one appetizer and two entrees. We will not go back.

Different ambiance, same food
Santa Fe used to be an adorable southwestern restaurant with rugs on the walls, tablecloths, the type of place you may want to go after a show at Lincoln Center. It has now moved to a new location (only 2 blocks away) but has lost the cozy atmosphere that existed in the old location. The dining room is now bare and stark, and the tables almost look like they belong in a cafeteria. Luckily, the menu is the same and the food is still excellent! We were told they are doing some more decorating, so hopefully my next visit will be in a more pleasant atmosphere. I still highly recommend Santa Fe for their food and usually excellent service, but if you've been before October, keep in mind the new place is not nearly as charming.

Change is good
The new Santa Fe, much like its venerable, 69th street ancestor, serves very reliable southwestern food in a friendly atmosphere at a fair price. While the vibe is upbeat and the formula winning, it will be hard for me to reconcile myself to the new Santa Fe. Luckily there's a bar to help me with the transition, not to mention excellent, if garlicky, guacomole.

Santa Fe
The best mexican on the upper west side, great for after or before a movie or lincoln center. Amazing reliable staff. Great reliable chef whose been there for over 15 years.

Great Place for Friends
I found Santa Fe to be a great place not only to dine but also just hang out with buddies.. great bar and an authentic southwestern atmosphere with a touch of new york. Try the chipolte chicken!!

Good basic standard Mex
A good neighborhood staple that offers good mexican food that won't blow you away, but definitely satisfactory.
