Are you Kidding?
I went to this Sant Ambroeus a year ago...and what a diference a year makes. It took 45 minutes for our food to arrive, no apology, no on the house coffee, just a throwdown of the food and that was it. The chandelier is hideous. the lighting is hideous. the service is so sad. and meanwhile, the mangement is clueless.

Overall excellent
extremely charming (situated in back of bakery) , high quality(although i would clearly take issue with "best upper east side Italian") spot with solid food with fair prices for the area

Best Italian restaurant on the upper east side
My boy friend found this place, I really like this place. Pasta is perfect. You won't regret. Additionally, dessert is so delicious. Service is not that great. However, food is so good. This place is also good to grab a cup of coffee and a piece of cake. Kinda little expensive to enjoy tea or coffee though.

Great food, poor service!
i was there with my family and the manger couldn't find us a table. And I understand, we were there without a reservation. The waiter spoke such poor english, we barely could understand him. But the food was unbelievable. Five stars to Risotto ai frutti di mar and Cotoletta!
