    Used to Flatbush

OK, I am spoiled cause I frequent East Flatbush but this place is not bad... BUT you need to go early before the food has a chance to sit around & dry out.

    The best oxtails in Brooklyn

I attended Sans Souci Restaurant for the first time and was highly highly impressed with the service, drinks, food. The owner greeted each of his customers and gave us free appetizers and a drink on the house. I ordered oxtails with rice and peas, cabbage, plantains and a side of mac and cheese...IT WAS DELICIOUS! Even the left overs were delicious. This restaurant is highly recommended by me and if youre looking for some good and tasty carribean food, look no further..!

    Inedible Jerk Chicken (take out)

Ordered a large jerk chicken dinner --specified dark meat thinking it couldn't be dry. Sure enough it was burnt and so dry it had to be days old. I hate to leave a bad review and mess with people's living, but this was truly inedible. I feel bad for the chicken that died for nothing and feel even worse throwing food away. I won't be ordering from there again. (the guy on the phone was nice though...)

Great Food! Great Chef (Still working out the kinks)

Chef Basil is one of the best Brooklyn has to offer. The food is great. The atmosphere is great. On the weekends the music may be a little loud but that may be to attract new customers. Eating in is far better than take out. My faves are Rasta Pasta; Jerk Chicken; Snapper; Popcorn Shrimp.

    Delivery (sigh)

I have been meaning to try this place and tonight decided I was in the mood for something flavorful and different. I placed my order for delivery with a very nice and helpful girl over the phone. I ordered the hangar steak with peppercorn sauce and sweet potato fries, side of mac and cheese and an order of the fried calamari. I was told the delivery would take 30-45 minutes but it actually took about an hour and when it came the food was all cold. I don't mind warm food but cold is just blah. The steak was somehow flavorless and did not have any peppercorn sauce. The sweet potato fries were soggy and I'm not sure what kind of sweet potatoes they use because they were white. The calamari was also not very flavorful but the sauce that came with it was great and made up for that. All in all I was very bored and unsatisfied with my meal and will probably not order from here again. I may give it another chance for dine-in because the people were very nice over the phone and maybe the food just doesn't travel well.

    not working

i've been trying to give this place a chance but for the price the food is not up to standards. cold apps - fish and chicken skewers tasted like frozen food.

    Chef Basil!

Very good food. Went here with boyfriend and fam, and had a great time. They could lose the TVs in the dining room, but Chef Basil's warmth and hospitalilty, and his great food, made up for it. Hope to come back sometime soon!
