Great tapas & sangrias in midtown

I was in Barcelona last week & I have to tell you this tapas are as close as it gets to real traditional spanish food in NYC. Love the cheeses, my favorites were the filet mignon & potatoes w aglio olio, octopus was very tender as well. The serrano ham was not refrigerated as in most restaurants they kept out in the bar which is how they did in Spain & don't forget the sangrias which made the whole night fantastic.

    Thank you very much

I would like to thank you for taking such a great care of our office party. We had the best time and did not want to leave. Your tapas are delicious like nowhere else. Your wine list is outstanding as well. Thanks again for the great meal and great time.

One of the best Tapas in N.Y.C.

I have had Tapas in a few places in New York but after dining three times at Sangria 46 I am convinced they are the best around . No snobish wait staff, great wine list and sangria selection and outstanding Tapas I especialy like the filet mignon tapa and the fried artichokes. As a local doctor in mid town I go out often and I can say with pleasure I will keep going back to this mid town gem.

You can look, but don't eat

The decor @ Sangria 46 led us to believe that our meal would be equally appreciated, including the quiet refuge in the rear courtyard. Sadly, the decor was the highest mark that I could give this establishment. We stopped in for a quick bite in the late afternoon - 2 hot tapas, and one cold. The food was merely passable; the serrano and manchego platter was overwhelmed by the taste of plastic wrap, and the bread was the same commonly found in mass-produced Italian slophouses. The 2 hot tapas (peppers stuffed with cod, ham croquettes) were decent, but oversalted. The wine list was also akin to the feedtroughs alluded to above (who drinks Bonny Doon...??). The service, however, was not good at all. At the time, the restaurant was empty, and there were 2 separate couples in the courtyard - the ratio was 1 waiter to each table (three tables, three waiters). We waited for 20 minutes before our hot tapas arrived (cold tapas should always be served first!), and had to repeatedly ask for our water to be refilled - the waiters didn't seem to want to walk all the way back to the courtyard. Another 20 minutes later, the cold tapas arrived...along with the bill.

    Excellent food, Great service!!

Simply the best place to taste, of a good selection of Tapas and typical subjects of gossip of Espana, of the exquisite selection of wines, and the excellent service. They give the best touch of distinction between many others.

    Great new spanish Tapas restaurant.

My group of 4 and I heard about the new restaurant and since most of us live in mid town we made a reservation and met at Sangria 46. We sat out side in the garden patio we started off with red sangria after we finished the first pitcher we had a peach and strawberry sangria ,they were both great the red was dry and the st&peach was sweet. We orderd a spread of about 15 Tapas from serano ham that is hand cut,Manchego cheeses,Artichokes fried to filet mignon tapas . We all agreed the place was fantastic the food was great and the service was friendly and polite. Our group has found a new great place and we will go back soon.
