    Still the best

I'm a 20 year customer, been going since Elementary school (ps41 next door). The location has changed but the food is still great. The turkey is fresh roasted (think thanksgiving) and juicy. The fried chicken is amazing. The cuban is so flavorful. With all the timeout new york restaurants in the hood selling trendy specialty meatballs and ramen burgers this sandwich shop will survive based on quality alone. This is one of the last true family owned and operated business in the village.

    Village history

This sandwich store has been around for years, delivering always high quality foods. The 'new' owner previously mentioned is actually the sister of the original brother owners. They keep it all in the family. She actually started most of the recipes. FUN FACT! YUUUUMMMMMYYYY!

    Never again

it took over an hour to get a sandwich delivered. i live 2 blocks away. i should have walked over to get it but just wanted it delivered. no matter what, it should take under 70 minutes to deliver a sandwich 2 blocks. it's 2:25 in the afternoon. not exactly the busiest time of day. sandwich was fine, but not worth an absurd amount of time.

Stale Bread - Not What It Used to Be

This place was a gem when it was operated by the original owners under the simple name Sandwiches. It was two guys who were very funny who made the sandwiches and always kidded with you. They obviously sold the place, which now has nondescript types working there. I agree with poster below about the herb mayo - absolutely delicious on everything. But the quality has greatly diminished. I was here last week and the bread was stale. I should have suspected something when I was asked if I wanted it toasted - never a good sign. For almost $8.00, I got a mediocre sandwich on old bread. Feh! I will never go back.

    Great Herbal Mayo at TOSS

The only place on earth that has this great unique herbal mayo. I highly recommend it. I have this mayo on all the sandwiches I get at TOSS. It is just deliciously addicting. Thanks guys!

    great turkey sandwiches... if only...

i keep coming back for their fresh dark-meat turkey sandwiches, and as i eat them, i always yearn for cranberry sauce, gravy or stuffing to go on it! the only reason this sandwich doesn't get a perfect rating is that it comes so close to that classic one... i recommend that people check it out, and casually ask the server if they have cranberry sauce.... maybe they'll get the hint!

Best Sandwichs Ever: Quality & Service!

The guys at The Original Sandwich Shoppe (T.O.S.S.). make the best sandwichs ever! The attention to detail and quality at TOSS is unheard of for a sandwich shop. I have been eating at TOSS since I was a young boy and I love everything I have ever eaten. The fresh carved turkey sandwich is by far my favorite. The meat is alway fresh-off-the-bone and the herbal mayonnaise is distinct and delicious. Ask for honey mustard and they will mix fresh honey and their textured mustard to suite your tastes. For a little extra kick you can request spicy chipotle mayonnaise. The soups are great during the cold winter months. My other recommendations include the marinated steak sandwich, their fresh squeezed juices, and the "mama's fried breaded chicken' sandwich. I strongly urge everyone to try the food at TOSS.
