    Looks great tastes of nothing

I saw this place in passing and decided to stop in being greatly interested in tea myself and loving oolong I decided to try the staff favourite. It tasted of nothing. I am no expert but I was informed an introduced to good tea by an expert. I tried to give the tea more and more time as I kept tasting it until it got bitter and still had no flavour. By this time I had drunk half the tea and did not expect a refund so I settled the bill. The employee noticing the left tea led to me pointing out the lack of flavour. He didn't seem to know much about tea as he tried it and said it should be smooth and wasn't bitter. It was clearly was bitter and smooth in no way means trace flavours of how it should taste! I settled up and left extremely dissapointed of my first new York tea house.

    Tasty Brunch

Came here with one of my girl friends for brunch. Our server was very attentive and accomodating - we are very particular orderers. Tea and coffee was very good. Both our meals were very good and we left satisfied. I will definatly come back.

    Bypass please

After reading the decent reviews, I decided to try it out. The service was poor. Waited forever to be seated when the place was practically empty. The waitstaff took a while to take our order and when the food finally came, it was not edible. Not good at all. Don't waste your time and money here.

    Love It

Dinner is the best time to come here. The vibe is great. Get to know the servers and they'll treat you like their best friend everytime you come. The food is outstanding- truly excellent. This is the best restaurant in Soho and probably Tribeca too.

    By all means...

Very cool, hip place with friendly people and good, solid food. They are trying very hard to please and doing a nice job. Innovative and intimate.

    greatness

i came here with a friend a few days ago and i must say. not only is the tea selection huge but the food was great as well. the whole atmosphere that day just felt cool and hip. i had one of there cocktails. i don't remember the name but it was green and recommended to me by my server, since i liked vodka. i was a little skeptical about the tea being in the cock tail but it was love at first sip. i will be back.

Nice food, fantastic tea selection But..

The Good: Interesting and well presented food in a nice space. Expansive tea selection. The Bad: Inexperienced, but honest, wait staff. Manager / supervisor who appears to have little or no front of house experience and more worrying does not appear to have the temperament to fulfill such a role. The Ugly: 4 hours for a two course dinner (at which point considering dessert would just have been irresponsible!). After lengthy waits to receive our appetizers and entree, the delay between serving the same course (note, SAME COURSE) to the first and last member of our party was at least 15 minutes. Note also that the unavailability of one entree was not made clear until at least 45 minutes after it had been ordered! Not surprisingly this item WAS included in our bill and after pointing this out to the manager he explained this unavailability was due to "technical issues" in the kitchen. Point to note for manager / chef - it's a kitchen you are running, not mission control at Cape Canaveral! Additional Comments: In the interests of fairness I should point out that we were a party of 14, perhaps this was just overload for an inexperienced kitchen. However, it should also be noted that on this particular night it was not only our party that had difficulties. Also, the manager did agree to a 25% discount on the bill. This however was only after some discussion and debate, hence whatever chance there was to save face for the disasters of this night was clearly lost.
