San Rocco (CLOSED)

I was not happy with my dinner, I ordered risotto with shrimp. The shrimp was over cooked and the risotto was so bland that not even extra salt and cheese could not help it. I thought that for the quality of food it was very expensive.

There are some good reviews of this place, but I thought it was downright disappointing. I got the seafood risotto ($25). Shrimp were clearly cooked/frozen, then reheated. Mussels were overcooked, then cold once they got to me. Risotto was overly salty and undercooked (not al dente... hard). Boyfriend got chicken ($24) with orange and spinach. After a year of dating, he has complained about food often, but I've never ever seen him send something back to the kitchen. The chicken was literally cold on the plate and was sent back. New dish was warm, but still tasted like a TV dinner.

This is a great restaurant. An unlimited amount of attention has been given to each and every detail--from the interior design to the dishes, silverware, glasses--and last, but not least, to the food items and preparation. I have eaten here five times and always marvel at the courtesy and attentiveness of staff, the moderate price and the loveliness of the restaurant. My only complaint is that the music is occasionally too loud, but the volume is turned down as soon as requested. Absolutely WONDERFUL restaurant.

the food is amazing an the apperitivo is a fantastic idea! i pay only the drink and the food is free! i love this restaurant!
