San Matteo Panuozzo

The pizza is definitely made with fresh ingredients, but it is nothing special. The crust is undercooked, the sauce bitter and it just doesn't have that much taste. Much worse than all that is the complete lack of any type of service. No greeting when you walk in, no attention apart from taking your order and no "thank you" on the way out. If you enjoy being ignored and eating mediocre pizza this is the place for you.

The title says it all. They're doing it correctly. If you have a beef with price or whatever, that's sort of your problem. If you want a proper pizza, this is the place.

A pizzeria is not for those looking for romance.. if you want romance, go somewhere else. San Matteo is a pizzeria, a pizzeria.. not a place I would schlep my fiancee to..clearly! The pizza is authentic and well made, the service can be halting, but the atmosphere is authentic and Salernitana. If anyone is looking for romance, please not the spot... this is a place to "let it go" relax and enjoy just like Italians tend to do. I just do not get the criticism since people mix apples and peas! Jeez, just let it go and enjoy an excellent pizza and some wine! Ciao!

Went there on a Friday night with my fiancee and the place was pretty empty: already a bad sign! But we thought who cares, let's give it a shot!We ordered two pizzas: a margherita and the porcini and mushrooms one. Given that the pizzas looked pretty big we didn't feel like having an appetizer as well and that seemed to have made our waiter pretty mad since he gave have us quite an angry look and never approched our table again, if not to give us the check without even saying thank you! The pizzas were indeed made with fresh ingredients, but they were quite hard to chew since very gummy. Needless to say, our glasses stayed empty for the whole dinner and when we basically started SCREAMING in order to get some attention, the waiter seemed pretty reluctant to come and give us some water since he was very busy talking to another couple, probably his friends or something. Overall, one of the worst dinner experiences of my entire life! Avarege food and poor service!

A friend and I went to San Matteo's for dinner. We decided to try the "Porcini E Tartufo" Pizza (homemade mozzarella, porcini mushrooms, parmigiano reggiano, truffle oil). It was absolutely delicious! The truffle oil, and quaint atmosphere, was amazing! Both reminded me of my trip to Italy this past summer. We ended our dinner with the Pizza Con Nutella (pizza dough with hazelnut spread), and it was by far- out of this world! San Matteo is adorable and delicious! It's definitely a must try! Not to mention, a cute date spot!
