    Evening Ruined

Although our food was delicious and service was ok, our experience was ruined by the obnoxious, loud & rude behavior of the two tables next to us ... not only were they loud, but their language was inappropriate for a fine dining experience. Since this is a tiny restaurant, it is the owner's responsibility to step forward & attempt to quiet such a situation that is clearly bothering all other diners. We couldn't have any conversation because we could not hear a word the other was saying. It appeared that a free bottle of wine was given to the worst offender when he left, yet no compensation was even offered to the diners who had to endure the extreme "bar room" behavior. The owners never once asked them to quiet down.

    Very pleasant dining experience!

They make you feel like you are very welcome. The service is friendly and attentive. The food is wonderful. If there is something that you want but is not on the menu - they will make it for you. The prices are good and the food is fresh.

    Neighborhood Excellence

Met up with 3 depressed co-workers for dinner Tuesday night. Amazing. We left happy and all felt we'd discovered a real New York treasure. Massimo welcomed us like family, advised us, visited & checked on us. I was reminded of the mythical Grand Ticino depicted in Moonstruck; a place that neighbors who know visit regularly for excellent dinner, and attentive service. Two of us had the veal scallopini. It was fresh, fine, lightly breaded and extremely tender; superb! Massimo himself recommended the wines to accompany the courses. The atmosphere inspired us to focus our conversation on hopes for the future rather than the mutual whining session we had planned! I hope your experience is as delightful as ours was. I look forward to bringing other family and friends.

    Fabulous neighbhor restaurant

Neighborhood restaurants in Manhattan are a dying breed. The service here is top notch and they will accommodate any requests. The food is fresh and delicious. Their fish is excellent and it you have diet requirements they will make every effort to do it your way. Maximo checks to make sure everything is great. You will find many regulars here because the food and service is consistently superb. Locals are not an easy group to please. Not a cheap place but worth the money.

    Always Great!

I was shocked when I read some of the negative reviews. I have been there many, many times with my wife and with my co-workers and have never been unhappy. Service always prompt and friendly, food fantastic, atmosphere old world Italian. Try the Chicken Parmigian..its the best!!!

    Really Dissapointing

We ate here Saturday Feb. 12th, 2011. We were sat and not given menus or a wine list. After ten minutes someone came over to take our order. We told him that we needed menus and a wine list. He brought them and didn't return for about fifteen more minutes. The table next to us was hailing their server so that they could order. When we finally ordered, it took thirty minutes for our food to come. We ate the entire basket of mediocre bread in the mean time. The food was, okay. And I mean, just okay, perfectly mediocre. No one ever came to check on us. We had been finished eating for quite a while when we too finally had to hail a server to bring our check and our coats. 100 dollars later and tip for coat check and we were totally bummed. The place looks cute, but there are so many other Italian restaurants in NY. Save your money for someplace with better food and service.
