Fabulous neighbhor restaurant
Neighborhood restaurants in Manhattan are a dying breed. The service here is top notch and they will accommodate any requests. The food is fresh and delicious. Their fish is excellent and it you have diet requirements they will make every effort to do it your way. Maximo checks to make sure everything is great. You will find many regulars here because the food and service is consistently superb. Locals are not an easy group to please. Not a cheap place but worth the money.

Always Great!
I was shocked when I read some of the negative reviews. I have been there many, many times with my wife and with my co-workers and have never been unhappy. Service always prompt and friendly, food fantastic, atmosphere old world Italian. Try the Chicken Parmigian..its the best!!!

Really Dissapointing
We ate here Saturday Feb. 12th, 2011. We were sat and not given menus or a wine list. After ten minutes someone came over to take our order. We told him that we needed menus and a wine list. He brought them and didn't return for about fifteen more minutes. The table next to us was hailing their server so that they could order. When we finally ordered, it took thirty minutes for our food to come. We ate the entire basket of mediocre bread in the mean time. The food was, okay. And I mean, just okay, perfectly mediocre. No one ever came to check on us. We had been finished eating for quite a while when we too finally had to hail a server to bring our check and our coats. 100 dollars later and tip for coat check and we were totally bummed. The place looks cute, but there are so many other Italian restaurants in NY. Save your money for someplace with better food and service.

Awesome
I met 3 friends for dinner tonight and had one of the best pasta dishes ever! The mussels appetizer in a white wine sauce were delicious and my linguini in a white clam sauce was by far the BEST pasta dish I ever had (even better than Il Mulino - yes really) The sauce was so good I had to dip bread into it to finish the sauce. The tiramisu was also delicious, just the perfect end to a wonderful meal. I would highly recommend this place and if you like pasta this is the place for it. Not only was the food incredible but the staff was friendly and provided excellent service. A must try!

Just like Nana's
This place is a gem. Felt like I was in grandma's kitchen. The staff is friendly and very attentive. The food is delicious. This is my new go to place. Delicious, affordable, cozy and great neighborhood place.

Everything's slow
It took over 10 minutes after we were seated until someone actually brought us menus. We waited for our food for over 30 minutes. The food was average. Nothing special. I don't think the waiter came over to our table and asked if our food was fine or we needed something else. Their AC was too strong and we were all freezing. Overall it wasn't enjoyable.

Delivery order - Portion control
Ordered Chicken Portobello and rec'd a small sliver piece of chicken and a small serving of veggies. The meal was clearly fit as a kids meal but priced at $16!?!? The quality of the food was sub-par. Would not recommend!
