Sorry but I was less than impressed. The food is average - did like the Tuscan salad and the Vodka sauce is not bad. But again, nothing special. Felt a bit like a cafeteria, Italian style. Too many other Italian finds in this city to settle for mediocrity.

Dashed Expectations
I've wanted to try Sambuca for awhile. Did so but won't hurry back. Maitre'd needlessly difficult about the children in our party, never brought us menus, wouldn't take our dining coupon etc. Veal Sorentino was very good but meatballs the size and consistency of softballs.

Best kept a secret
Atmosphere was ok, but nothing special. Service was sub-par & the food didn't really make it all worth it. Save yourself a trip & money & go somewhere else.

The food is not very authentic italian, the service is pretty good, and the value isn't anything special. Yet I still seem to find myself there alot.

Ab-Fab place to eat
The place offers great food, always fresh always Italian!!! I love their pastas and the salad we ordered came with a rich taste of Balsamic vinegar and some kind of Italian cheese - good stuff! They have tables for two, four, six...ten - you name it and it never feels cramped, the place is so quiet and sophisticated, but the price is a dream. This is a must for anyone who loves Italian, like I do. I think it's the best kept secret of the upper W. Side
