With a great location, catchy name, and nice theme, it's hard to screw the experience up...but somehow this place manages to do just that. Although the dining room was only half full, our server seemed to constantly be in a huge hurry everytime came by our table. He also refused to change our order after he had just entered it (I requested a small change just seconds after we placed our original order). On top of all this, he spoke little English and got irritated when I asked him to repeat something. The food was average at best. It is family style, so beware of the portions! Finally, the decor looks as if whoever designed the place had a multiple personality disorder. Overall, I don't think we'll be back.

I first tried Sambuca with a friend and loved it, so I had my holiday party there. Everything was perfect. I was able to set everything up in advance: food, bar, balloons, etc. We all had a ball; the food was amazing and abundant to say the least. I like to go with my family and friends, and even my two Celiac friends love Sambuca's Special Gluten-Free menu ... they say it is the best in town. The atmosphere is very warm and comfortable and the service is great. Everyone is super friendly and accommodating. They make you feel welcome and appreciated!

I came excited about the gluten-free menu but left disappointed. My companions got bread immediately, but I had to wait 20 minutes for GF bread, and when it came it was not fresh. I would have asked the waiter about it, only he never came back! Our food was brought by busboys, and we only saw the waiter again about half an hour after we finished our (mediocre, overpriced) food. He said, "Didn't anybody bring you a dessert menu?" Um, that's your job. It was a special occasion so my friend was treating, and I actually apologized to him for picking this restaurant.

I went here with a promotional gift certificate but I couldn't use it because it was Tuesday, aka 50% off the price of wine, night. The owner said we could use the gift certificate or get the money off the wine.. With my group of 6 the discount on the wine turned out to be a better deal. We got here early, I recommend doing that if you can because the restaurant really filled up as the night progressed. The food was served family style and that only added to the fun. The waitress had a lot of patience with us. She never threw anything at us when we couldn't decide what to order (after returning at least 3 times) and was very helpful in our decision making. Everything came out just the way we wanted it. They were able to give us four courses delivered at the correct time and always delicious. My favorites were the eggplant rollitini appetizer and the chicken parmigiana. We also had an antipasto salad, a large regular salad, ziti without meat, broccoli with garlic and fried calamari. I couldn't get over how competent the waitress was and that made our dinner experience all the nicer. For dessert we all had delicious coffee with tiramasu, hot apple crumb cake with four kinds of wonderful gelato. I personally cannot wait to go back for more eggplant but the most fun was round tables. We were a crowd of old friends who hadn't seen each other for years. The round table allowed us all to hear each other and to comment on each one's life. It was a wonderful night and the Sambuca only added to our enjoyment of each other. I would give this restaurant 5* for food, friendly atmosphere and a very filling experience...When we left none of us wanted to waddle down to our cars..

Sambuca has the most extensive gluten-free menu around. They take good care of their GF customers, including GF dinner rolls. All their GF dishes are tasty and come in huge portions. Make sure that you order 1 dish for every two people b/c they are quite large. One drawback though, the music is quite eclectic, but doesn't fit the ambiance of the restaurant.
