    Rude Service!

These guys USED to be good about a year ago. I used to get their sandwiches. Sure, they were hit and miss, but they were worth it for the amount of food. Now, these guys forget to put lettuce and tomatoes (not just once, but multiple times), they don't listen to extra toppings (sometimes even arguing on the phone about it) and they have called me back before to make sure I am planning to tip the delivery guy. And this is when I live a block away. Seriously rude and greedy. Constantly skimping. Stay away.

    Way Overpriced

Typical deli with typically bad sandwiches, and typical beer selection. The only standout is that you'll pay $4-5 more per six-pack of beer than every other deli in the neighborhood. It's the closest place to my apartment, but I'll never be back.

    Overpriced

The deli is alright - so long as you stick with simple stuff like sandwhiches or deli meats/cheeses. Everything is overpriced. You'll pay a premium on anything. You go to Samba's when you just want a deli sandwhich late night - or if you don't mind paying extra because they have a decent selection of things like ice cream and other snacks.

Just don't do it to yourselves...

From a place that advertises its 24/7 availability, you immediately don't ask for much. You already know that this is a 5am compromise and that you shouldn't expect a 5 star meal, right? However, you'd think a simple cheeseburger or a Caesar salad wouldn't be too much to ask for. It's simple and ordinary and easy to prepare. How about an old piece of dry meat that calls itself a burger and some cheese sprinkled lettuce with chicken from the 80's as salad (no dressing)? We both knew that if we were to eat what we've ordered (which was also very overpriced!) we would regret it terribly. So we basically threw $20 in the garbage and had some cereal. The moral of this story: always keep cereal at home.

    No frills tasty

The title says it all -- Sambas gives you a generously proportioned and delicious sandwich at a reasonable price.

    Great sandwiches and great staff!

Stopped to grab a sandwich when I was in a rush, and I'm so glad I finally did! There are so many mini-mart/delis in NY, most of which I would never even think of ordering food from. Samba is an exception - it's clean, they have quality ingredients (Boar's Head), and the people are friendly. They have breakfast and lunch specials and they definitely don't skimp on the meats (my turkey sandwich had a TON of turkey).
