I love this place. The food is excellent and everyone there is always smiling and always checking if you're happy.

What can I say, I love this place. Great customer service, excellent food, awesome prices. Enough said. Everyone should stop by and try a slice

As a lifelong NYer who took trips to Arthur Ave since I was a kid, I have to say that Salvos has a surprisingly good tomato sauce for a local Manhattan pizzeria. They nail all the Italian-American favorites, like Chicken/Shrimp Parmigiana, Calamari, Shrimp Scampi, Spaghetti/Meatballs (meatballs are a little bready but good). Had a great grilled chicken in lemon butter w/artichokes too. Their pizza? Also very tasty b/c of their great sauce. My one complaint? They are a little skimpy on the cheese on the regular slice and the dough could have a little more bite. But overall everything is solid. For Manhattan, it's great - considering most places here have become franchises or owned by people who couldn't find Italy on a map.

No idea where these crazy reviews are coming from. Salvos is amazing. I grew up in the neighborhood and these guys have that good old timey feel. The food tastes like my mothers did, and the music (Italian classics) is always wonderful. Get the spaghetti and meatballs, they are fantastic! Anddd, bottles of wine for $17?? Amazing. The check comes out to the same price as a grocery bill, and they do the dishes. It's a no brainer. Go to Salvos!

Don't understand why someone had a problem with the eggplant! Think they make a great sandwich. I should know I'm very picky about my eggplant sandwiches. One of the dishes I enjoy very much is the chicken franchise I highly recommend it. The margarita pizza is thin and crispy and They also make a great sicilian pizza. Don't leave without trying their pepperoni knots, you won't be disappointed.I would also like to recommend the fettuccine and shrimp pasta.

I used to go and order from Salvos. The brothers who run this place are really nice guys. However the portion sizes have shrunk and food quality is no where it used to be. Now it's over priced fair food.
