Salvo's Pizza Bar

No idea where these crazy reviews are coming from. Salvos is amazing. I grew up in the neighborhood and these guys have that good old timey feel. The food tastes like my mothers did, and the music (Italian classics) is always wonderful. Get the spaghetti and meatballs, they are fantastic! Anddd, bottles of wine for $17?? Amazing. The check comes out to the same price as a grocery bill, and they do the dishes. It's a no brainer. Go to Salvos!

Don't understand why someone had a problem with the eggplant! Think they make a great sandwich. I should know I'm very picky about my eggplant sandwiches. One of the dishes I enjoy very much is the chicken franchise I highly recommend it. The margarita pizza is thin and crispy and They also make a great sicilian pizza. Don't leave without trying their pepperoni knots, you won't be disappointed.I would also like to recommend the fettuccine and shrimp pasta.

I used to go and order from Salvos. The brothers who run this place are really nice guys. However the portion sizes have shrunk and food quality is no where it used to be. Now it's over priced fair food.

The pizza is amazing. There are plenty of places closer to us but we order from Salvo's b/c the pizza and the customer service are always great.

This might be the best pizza by the slice in Manhattan. I tried it for the first time 5 days ago and I've been back twice since. All I can review is the plain Neapolitan pizza because that's all I've tried but it is outstanding. Thin, crispy crust, tangy sauce, slightly sharp cheese and, so far, cooked consistently well. Very much looking forward to trying the Grandma and moving on from there. So happy this place is only two blocks away!

I never write reviews, but the eggplant parmesan was by far the poorest I have ever had. It was all bread crumbs and no eggplant, as hungry as I was, I threw the whole thing out. On a positive note, the baked clams are outstanding.
