My new favorite place in NYC!
I have never written a review before, but couldn't wait to tell all of you what a lovely place Salud is! Went there last night for my husband's birthday. The food was delicious, service was wonderful and the restaurant was candlelit and beautiful. I made reservations for 10 and when we arrived the table was set-up and ready for us. The restaurant is small, yet our party of 10 was very comfortable. (Dark wooden chairs are large compared to NYC standards.) But the real star here is the food! Every dish we ordered was delicious (I think we tried almost everything off the menu, between the 10 of us!) Even my young niece and nephew enjoyed the chicken wings with honey. Then while our waiter carried my husband's flan with a lit candle to the table, the whole place started to sing "Happy Birthday" to him. What a friendly crowd! Can't wait to return to my new favorite place in NYC!

Great food, good value, Salud!
I have tried tapas restaurants from upper east side down and have always been somewhat disappointed with the food quality and selection at each. While Salud does not stay within the typical boundaries of traditional tapas plates, this is definitely a place we will be going back to often. The Latin American influences work well and the prices were extremely reasonable for a tapas restraunts (try the price fixe menu). Service was a little off, but nothing to be concerned about. I would definitely recommend this to anyone looking for value and great food.

Best kept secret in NYC
Everything about this place was unbelievably amazing. It was my first time going to this tiny restuarant and it is already my favorite. Initially, I was enthralled by the decoration and ambiance of the place. The plants and the dark wood make you feel as if though you are by a beach on a remote island. And the fact that it's small makes the experience that much better as you won't have big, noisy crowds. My girlfriend and I were promplty greeted and seated by a very nice waitress who did a superb job the entire time. We ordered the paellita as an appetizer and the churrasco as the main dish. The food was incredibly delicious - nothing else to say there! I could go on and on about how good this place is and provide more details, but then I would be spoiling the fun for you. I don't know how anybody could give this place a bad review. Definitely check out Salud!

Miami @ the Seaport.
I enjoyed everything we ate, from the shrimps and tostones to the flan. The food was exquisitely tasteful and the presentation was great. Not to mention the 2 mojitos I had which by the way were refreshing and delighful. The decor is so SouthBeach/Havana like and the service was up to par. However it's a bit pricey for tapas. I will go again just because I like the food, drinks, service and ambience.

Not that good....
The food was not really that good and way too expensive. Next to that, the waitress did not even know how to open and serve a bottle of wine. I was not impressed at all... I have visited several much better restaurants in NYC. Salut has all the ingredients to be a very good restaurant, but they need to work on the quality of the food and service.

Delicious Food!
Food it delicious! Mojitos are great! I had the skirt steak with tostones. The steak was so tender - the tostones were delicious so were the bacalaitos I had to start. My second time there and I will keep going back. Two thumbs up - all the way around!

Oh, the food!
I love everything I have ever eaten here even though it costs about 10 times what it's worth. The owners might want to check out the meaning of tapas, which shouldn't be $13 apiece. However, the service is pleasant and the tiny place has a lovely feel, with dark wood against white paint and lots of plants. Also a separate bar. The music is way too loud for such a small space, too, but oh, the food, it's bursting with authentic flavor and lots of it. You may leave broke, but you probably won't care.
