what were the other reviews thinking?
I would like to start by saying, i recently visited "Salt and Pepper" because of the positive responses i read on menu pages. Claims that the atmosphere was good, the lighting was just right, and the food to die for..... well i think those reviews must have been phony. Salt and pepper is a hole in the wall indian joint, with dingy tables and florecent lighting. the food is not made fresh, but scooped into a metal tin or on a plastic plate from a hot table buffet. This is not as much a restaurant, but a cheap indian fast food joint. They servers were very pleasant, and the portions are quite large, but it didnt taste like the high quality indian food i am accostume to. The naan was decent, but the chicken tikka masala was dry, and liquidy,, not thick and creamy like it usualy is. If you want down and dirty take out- this is it. if you want to take someone to a nice indian restaraunt this is not it. happy eating!

Great Experience
I had never been to Salt & Pepper before a few of us went for a birthday dinner. It was such a delightful surprise. The food and the presentation were great. The staff were accommodating and just very relaxed and chill - really into making the experience good for you. The atmosphere did it for me. If you like to eat at tables set up family style, this is the place to go. The lighting is perfectly dimmed, gorgeously placed bouquets on the tables and a very french country vibe. It's worth it.
