As someone who has been vacationing in Spain for over 20 years, i am completely blown away by Salinas! The food, service, and Ambience is spot on!

Words can't express how disappointing of an evening we had last night. Three courses arrived prior to us getting our drinks! the service was the poorest i have experienced in my life. The manager had no control of anything and if he worked for me i would have fired him. Food was unappetizingl, fish was cold and a rare steak they brought us was so well done, to a point we coudn't eat it. It should have been food with salt as everything had way too much salt. We asked for a wine list 8 times. I never take the time to write a review but want to spare anyone from this place!! we sent food back and the manager said it would be taken off the bill and of course the check came and we were chaged for everything. Also when they brought wrong drinks the waiter had the nerver to tell me that the drink was something other than what it was. absolute nightmare! a hot dog on the street would be more worthwile.

Didn't know what to expect out of a place that was getting "new spot" buzz. I'm normally afraid of that hip NYC arrogance. Although it is definitely a trendy environment, it was very welcoming. Great hostess, friendly bartender. Glass ceiling. Fireplace. Very nice. The food was absolutely delicious. Ordered 4 dinner and 3 apps to split between 3 of us. I loved every bite. Flatbread with honey. The Fideo w/ chicken, chorizo, etc was so f*****g good. The portion of pig was enormous (a great thing), with delicious crisp skin and juicy pork. Amazing dessert although i had very little room.

Ceviches, tapas, cocktails, steaks, wine, all fantastic. Oh and who could forget the PAELLA, its a scrumptiously unforgettable dish. I've been here three times since it has opened and can't get enough. Sometimes i dont feel pretty enough to eat here though, the people/staff are all so good looking. But i will keep coming back. Only thing is that its not that cheap. But what is in NY? especially in meatpacking. Easily a new fave.

Place is fairly nice looking although more loungy than I expected. With such a renowned chef one would hope the food would be at least serviceable...its not. The quail was overwhelmed by the bacon and way too salty. Patatas Bravas were soggy and had no punch. The shrimp were flavorless and muddy. And that's just the apps! As for the mains the suckling pig did, the steak was tough and the chicken was so tart I puckered. Big MEH. Dessert was skipped as the bill was already too high.
