As locals in the high UES there are very limited options so we often have to turn to whatever is open and unfortunately, when desperate enough, we turn to Salata. I can't tell you how much of a sucker I feel every time I go there and hope that "this time" the food will be okay. Every time I eat there or one of my friends try to eat there, without fail, the baked goods turn out to be stale beyond explanation and the food is noticeably old.

The quality of the food was great when Salata first opened, what happened?! Unfortunately, like another reviewer stated, the delivery service is is not good; it takes forever for the food to get here (>45 minutes for a 2 block delivery) and warm food is already cold. Today's chicken sandwich was topped with dried and old cheese not to mention sour mayonnaise. I'm disappointed.

Thank God Salata has saved the far upper east from limp salads and spoiled side dishes! I have eaten just about everything Salata offers - breakfast oatmeal and muffins, coffee, the soups to the cut fruit, to the sushi, sandwiches and, my favorite, the Turkish dishes, and have not had a single thing that wasn't excellent. The service is friendly (albeit the lines can be really long at lunch time) and the seating is quiet and a refreshing change from the uninspired other places on Madison and in the 80s and 90s. I don't know where they get their vegies, but the salad bar is much fresher than any other I have seen in NY.

Salata has it all. From fresh sandwhiches and soups, to delicious salads with fresh ingredients that anybody would enjoy. A new twist to the upper east 90's "norm" of pizza/burrito spots that dot the area. Delivery is always good, and fast.....and won't burn a hole in your pocket.

My son came the world three weeks ago at Mount Sinai Hospital. My wife called Salata to order food at 11 pm the guy who works at Salata delivered food for her. When my called them store already closed. Even store was closed, he did not hesitate to deliver. My wife and I were so appreciative for him and the food was so good.

I work at Mount Sinai and decided to use Salata to cater one of our functions. I've never gotten such positive feedback from my colleagues about the food!! And the price cannot be beat. They even called after we received the catering to make sure that everything was to our satisfaction. Top notch service and amazing food. I give Salata my highest recommendation.

the salads are really good, however, the delivery service is questionable. they had a hard time understanding my order over the phone, the delivery guy had to call to confirm my address (and couldn't understand the address i was telling him) and then showed up without any change for a tip. i sincerely hope the delivery improves because the food is quite good.
