We have eaten great Moroccan food both in Morocco and Paris; however, the couscous and tagines here are the least authentic we have ever encountered. The tagine didn't even come in a clay pot but was just lamb in a sauce with a little green unknown vegetable on top, served on a dinner plate. The couscous had hardly any vegetables, and there was barely a hint of the fabulous spices normally found in Moroccan food. My husband maintains that we were served warmed up leftovers. Everyone was very hospitable and the surroundings were cozy, but that can't make up for really inferior food.

I had the vegetarian lunch combo-plate. Everything was delicious, perfectly prepared and tasted very very fresh!

I have been to Salam multiple times and love it every time. The service is always wonderful, even on very busy evenings. The sangria is great and so is the food. I'm a huge fan of this place.

I have been to salam once before and had a great experience, hence why I went back the second time. However the new waiter that was servicing us couldnt do her job right. I ordered the hommos appetizer and it didn't come out until the lamb kabob came out. While i enjoyed the food, I dont think I want to risk getting the same waiter a third time. I wouldn't recommend the place.

We love this little neighborhood place...no pretense or posers just fresh, simple food. We order maza for the table everytime and no matter who we bring, they always enjoy. Good food, great price!

We picked Salam based on the good reviews on this site. That was not our experience. We went on a Friday night for a celebratory dinner. The atmo was not too bad, with tables outside and a cozy back room. However, it was rather difficult to get the attention of the waiter. A chair to seat one of the guests? Too hard to bother. Drinks were not brought until 15 min after they were ordered. The combination kebab did not feature the shrimp it was supposed to have - no apology, but we did get 2(!) shrimp in a little extra plate just in time for dessert. The service was just incredibly slow and inattentive, and it ruined the entire experience. We will not be back.

This place is awesome. Extremely reasonable, great atmosphere, and good service. The food is very good, go for the maza, you won't love everything, but there is so much food that you will still be full.
