    poot service, so-so food

We picked Salam based on the good reviews on this site. That was not our experience. We went on a Friday night for a celebratory dinner. The atmo was not too bad, with tables outside and a cozy back room. However, it was rather difficult to get the attention of the waiter. A chair to seat one of the guests? Too hard to bother. Drinks were not brought until 15 min after they were ordered. The combination kebab did not feature the shrimp it was supposed to have - no apology, but we did get 2(!) shrimp in a little extra plate just in time for dessert. The service was just incredibly slow and inattentive, and it ruined the entire experience. We will not be back.

    Loved it...

This place is awesome. Extremely reasonable, great atmosphere, and good service. The food is very good, go for the maza, you won't love everything, but there is so much food that you will still be full.

    My Fail Safe

I have been to Salam perhaps 30 times over the last 4 years with every manner of company. The maza and wine are always a reliable combination, and even when a bottle is no longer available from the list, we have been supplemented with something comparable or better. The service is great, very attentive, but never hang over the table. Great atmosphere, wonderful seating options for all party types (family, friends, dates)... I am planning on going again this weekend. Perhaps I should not share, as this is still one of my favorite holes in the wall, no crazy crowds fail safe for all occasions.

    great food reasonable prices

Salam has very delicious middles eastern food and a nice selection of reasonably priced wine. The appetizers are fresh and tasty, my favorites are garlicy hpmmos and the spicy merguez sausage. A good way to try all the appetizers is to order the maza. Salam has delicious kebabs and a wonderful fillo dish called ouzi.

    Cozy Atmosphere Nice Experience

Have been to Salam a few times and it has been a nice experience ever time. This is the go-to Middle Eastern Restaurant for my gf and me. The lighting and seating s a nice ambiance in the rear dining room you do not notice people at the other tables unless you make an effort to look around. The food is always delicious and the entrees can typically feed two. Highly recommended.

Maza is the way to go

I was there during the summer. The ambiance is dark and mysterious and oh so quiet. My friend and I ordered the meat maza (minimum of 2 to share). Within minutes, the table was brimming with dishes. It was a glutton's dream! The amount they gave could have easily fed 3. In terms of the quality, I found the yogurt dipping sauce to be runny, and the hummus/baba ganoush had an unctuous feel on the palate. But all in all, judging only on the shared plates, you get over a dozen dishes to sample - wonderful! The big down side - we sat inside, towards the front by the end of dinner, I had 5 free gifts in the form of mosquito bites!

    Will be back...

My boyfriend, his parents and I went to Salam this past weekend and we all really enjoyed it. Our waiter was great and the food was delicious. The atmosphere was great too. We sat in the front room and it was very cosy. It's kind of hidden from the street so it's very private. We couldn't believe how long we had stayed. I will definitely be going back to it.
