I'm Indian, and it's still not ok

Being Indian, I cut a little slack to the lack of manners, especially on the phone. That being said, they are so rude. I can't believe they nice enough in person and on the phone, become mannerless voices. I only ordered from them as a third fall back plan to supplement something I was cooking but will simply do without next time.

    Trying hard

It was hard for me to believe that me and my girlfriend were the only people dining on Saturday night at 7.30pm at Salaam Bombay. We are familiar with Vikas Khanna's hospitality at this restaurant for a long time, so the emptiness did not bother us. The food is great and they try very hard to please every customer......if there is any?

    getting better

I thought I wouldnt order here again, but I did, and I think they must have read the criticism they fairly got regarding their service. Well, this time, the person who took my order was far more polite, I still got put on hold, but he asked me if he could for a moment, (that really does make all the difference) suddenly I felt good about ordering there. I'm not that sensitive, but a little bit of courtesy goes a long way and after writing a bad review about service earlier, I felt I should afford them the slightly more positive review on their improved service levels.

    Good food, charming people

Spicy aromas enticed us into this restaurant and did not deceive. The samosas we ordered as apetizers were tasty and the pastry flaky and light. The main course was spicy and aromatic. The staff were friendly and took care to be sure we were comfortable asking any questions we may have had with the menu.

    Poor Service, average food

I have eaten here twice and ordered from here a couple of times. I have to say, that is 3 more chances than I should have given it. I normally like Indian food, but the food was overly oily and way too stodgy. I also completely concur with the comments below about the rudeness of the staff taking the delivery orders. Almost without fail, they Instantaneously put you on hold with no explanation, then come back & take the order in the least friendly manner. It's just a bad experience, and the food isn't worth it.

    Poor Service

the food is actually not bad and if you go to the restaurant you will probably have a reasonably nice experience. However, once you try and order food for delivery, you will never go again. Its unfathomable how they can be so consistently rude by always placing you on hold for a minimum of 5 - 10 minutes with no excuse, apology or empathy. I made the mistake of trying to order delivery one more time, but it got me so annoyed that I wrote this comment. I am boycotting the restaurant from here on in.
