Sal & Carmine's Pizza

Long time customer who had enough of Sal's inconsistency. Sometimes they deliver other times they don't, sometimes their pizza other times the sauce is too salty, sometimes they have certain ingredients other times they don't. I honestly hope Sal's starts caring again. In the meantime, I have started to order elsewhere

How dare you bad-mouth this place. It is hands down the best pizza you can find, with the freshest ingredients put into an authentic recipe handed down from sal and carmines grandmother-- real italian. Every time I come to New York I make a mandatory trip to Sals

Question: How can a plain slice of cheese pizza taste bad? Answer: When all you can taste is salt! I'm one of those people who likes pretty much any pizza, I'm not picky. Even if it's bad pizza, hey, you're eating pizza! Right? Not here. Holy hell, I stopped in last night and grabbed two plain slices and I couldn't even finish them they were so salty. I've never had salty pizza before. The crust was way too tough, too. The plain slices are $3 each... I think this is pretty steep, especially for the quality. For $1 more you can get great pizza from a place like South Brooklyn or Artichoke.

This is pizza for people who know how NYC pizza should taste and be made. You will never find bland doughy flavorless pizza here only the best ingredients, thin crispy crust, perfect amount of cheese and sauce. This is Pizza perfected by a family owned . You have to know and appreciate what real NY pizza is all about here. I adore Sal and Carmines. Travel to eat this pizza.

Always begged my mom to take me here as a kid cuz I thought it was the best thing I ever tasted. Grew up to realize I was just addicted to the salt lol.

The absurd amount of salt makes one wonder about the freshness (or lack thereof) of ingredients. This greasy salt slab may be the worst slice in Manhattan.
