3 Bucks for a Slice? Holy S......T!!
It has been several months since I have been in this pizza place. I would stop by every so often as the pizza was pretty good, athough a bit salty. I know pizza well, been so hundreds of places around the city. When I walked in there the other day, I could not believe a plain slice was 3 bucks. Thats insane! There is a place in the w.70s that got me a bit mad when they charged 2.75 but 3 dollars? Besides, the slices seem like they got a bit smaller. Not worth it!!! They have some nerve charging that amount, especially for a place above 86th st. Also, a large pie is $24. They dont even discount for 8 slices. They will surely lose customers soon.

The best because it is unique
I grew up around the block from this place so obviously I am slightly biased but let me say this, what makes it a truly great slice is the taste of it, see the cheese and sauce they use have a totally different taste then other slices. the dough they use is sooooo great. I cant explain why the slice tastes so unique just go.

prices too high
bad attitude there as usual. the pizza is alright, but slices are getting smaller and prices are getting higher. Better off going elsewhere.

Salty!
I love Sal & Carmine's, they make pizza like it used to taste back in the 80's. I actually make the trip every couple of months from the Midtown E/UES to the UWS, which takes more than an hour by subway just to get a slice. The crust, the sauce, the cheese, all perfect. But over the years, their slice is getting saltier, and saltier. Does anyone else think it's getting too salty for consumption, or is it just me? And if so, I'm wondering if anyone has told them this? My friend's mom also cooks for a restaurant, and my friend repeatedly has to tell her to leave off on the salt. Apparently, as you get older, you can't taste salt as much? so your cooking gets saltier. I find it hard to say anything when I look at their sweet faces, but am wondering if I should write a letter, and if that would help? What if it's just me. Anyone out there agree with me?

Freakin Rocks
This place has the best cheese pizza ever. It is super salty and not too great when it's cold, but it's the tastiest pie.

Overrated
They raised the price to $3 a slice, and the slice I had was tiny. Also very salty. The dining room could double as a morgue. I won't be back.
