    our go-to for great food

ok, every reviewer seems to say that their restaurant experience was either awful or amazing....well, saiguette IS actually amazing. Super tiny restaurant--with only a few stools for eating-in--turns out consistently wonderful soups, dumplings, and don't get me thinking about their pork or I'll have to order from them for 2 nights in a row now...it's that good. Imagine lovely marinated and slightly charred spareribs without the bone or the grease and cut into strips for easy eating. That's what their pork is like. Get it with sticky rice and you can't go wrong. Good size portion, too. I usually have the rest for lunch the next day. oh, and their satays are tasty, too.

    Beware of Delivery guy

Firstly, I have to say that delivery is speedy and the food is as good. The pork shoulder is delicious and I love the soups. However, the delivery guy is just a clown. He asks for the tip in cash even if you've ordered with a card. What kind of crap is that? Then he gets offended when you just add it on the receipt. Complete bullcrap.

Service and quality going down the drain

I used to frequent Saiguette, but food portions and quality of their meats are now questionable. Delievery is gotten slow.... What happened?

    Amazing!

This was the perfect place to help fight off the cold weather! Delish, hot Pho with tender paper thin slices of beef and of course a round of spring rolls. Def ordering in next time as the place is tiny and has 6 stools in it. So gad I found Saiguette as winter descends upon us!

    Not recommended

I used to love this place but recently their food is not well-made and often cold even if you ask them to make sure it's hot. And the service is pretty poor too your money is better spent elsewhere if you're looking for a good, hot meal.

Fantastic Meal, All Ingredients Top Quality

We just had an excellent dinner delivered from Saiguette. Each dish came optimally packaged to insure that all the textures and flavors would be fresh when put onto our table. Our purchase came very quickly, despite the fact that we live 16 blocks and several avenues away from the resto. We had almost resigned ourselves to living without Vietnamese food after the demise of the Saigon Grill,* but now we can hardly wait to order from Saiguette again. If you live on the UWS, you have to give this place a try! (**Long live the mighty struggle of the SG working class!)

    Used to be so great!

We love this place, right around the corner from us, and have ordered delivery at least once a week for years. There is no other good Vietnamese food in the neighborhood, and I think their meat rivals the best in the city. That's why we were so disappointed when last month, the meat portions which used to be quite generous suddenly became absurdly small. Like, three sad little strips of pork on my favorite bun, and miniature slices of brisket in the pho. When we called to complain, the very nice person on the phone apologized, but said the owner had instructed them to give less meat. We've left messages and asked to talk with the owner many times since, but haven't gotten a response. We would be so sad to stop ordering from this great little place, but unless we specifically beg and threaten with every order, we continue to get these ridiculous shreds. Hopefully the management will rethink this policy, which will only hurt it's business in the long run as they continue to alienate loyal customers.
