No substitute for 88th and 2nd

Unfortunately the UES one closed and I craved the Bo Luc Lac... but this one was simply not as tasty. Also, despite advertising a free delivery but minimum for n blocks away (which I only noticed after receiving the order), they required the max minimum of $30 for 30 blocks (which is way more than my distance) and a $5 delivery fee... I suppose it is lucky the food at this particular one was not worth it. :)

    The King of Delivery

After years of consistent satisfactin, I owe it to this establishment to share my delight. I always order the food and understand that this is not a particularly pleasant place to dine, but the food comes so quick and is tasty at great value. They take instruction well and let you tailor your food with extra this or extra that. Also I once was forced to order sushi from here because my cousin insisted and we were SO surprised. Really really good. The Chicken sate is to die for and the beef papay asalad is a great healthy option.

Great Food, Great Service, Good Prices

My husband and I ate lunch here today and we were very satisfied as usual. The spare ribs are the best in town, the soups are all great, and the noodle and rice dishes are also very good. The service is very friendly and the restaurant is extremely clean. Best Vietnamese for the money!

    Favorite Place

This is my favorite restaurant by my house. Their Asian food of all different genres is always tasty. There is something to eat for absolutely everyone that goes there. My favorites are the #45 Bo Luc Lac (beef cubes over salad) and the Sea Bass. Anything with their Nuoc Cham sauce over it is delicious. The other people that commented are correct, the deliveries come in lightning speed. Best nightly dinner place on the UWS.

    Always a favorite

A friend from the Bronx and I always come to this Saigon Grill or the one on the East Side when we plan to eat in Manhattan. We can't seem to get ourselves to meet at any other restaurant when Saigon Grill is so delicious and lively and cheap. The perfect spot to catch up with a friend or get to know a date: you'll never get pushed out, they'll just keep on pouring you water, the food is cheap and plentiful, and there are tons of people chatting all around you, meaning that you can be relatively anonymous and that whatever anyone near you is blabbing about can be the next subject of your conversation. Don't be too intimidated by the line of people waiting for reservations at busy times, it goes fairly quickly (the place is huge), and also you can call even before you arrive and have them put you on their list (i.e., give you a reservation number). Highly recommended!

    Best Smoked Tofu in Town!

I have been going to the Saigon Grill on the UWS for years, and it never gets old. The bamboo steamed vegetable (on the vegetarian menu) is the best veggie deal in town ($7.95), and it comes with absolutely delicious smoked tofu w/ peanut sauce. I also recommend the shrimp summer rolls ($4.95) as an appetizer. I am not familiar with the carnivore menu, but for someone who lives off of seafood and veggies, this is paradise--despite the lack of edenic scenery and the babel-like din from the multiethnic clientele that frequents the restaurant.
