We ordered a beef dish and the lemon grass chicken. The beef had a soft, unrecognizable texture. I don't think that it was real beef or it was beef bi product. The lemon grass chicken proved a little more appetizing, however, the texture of the chicken was a unique also. This restuarant doesn't ring authentic in the least. On a positive note, the staff was very friendly.

This food has so much potential that I am more annoyed that they failed to follow through on it than I am with the quality. Got the lunch special of vermicelli noodles with roasted pork and a side of bok choy. Both were HUGE. The side was more like an entree and was very tasty and fresh. The pork was delicious. The thing I was disappointed in was that the vermicelli only came with a tiny little bitty portion of sauce and it is the sauce that makes or breaks this dish. So I didn't even touch the noodles, just ate the pork and bok choy. Delivery was quick even if they guy was surly. Who cares, just get it to me fast and hot. Will probably try other places before I consider ordering from here again.

We ordered for delivery at work. As for the food, i've only ordered one dish so far, and it's pretty good and my other friend said her dish was delicious. But, the delivery service was not good at all. The first time, the delivery guy demanded a 10% service charge (delivery is free) and the second time, the delivery guy did not even acknowledge or say thank you when i gave him a tip.

I stayed in Times Square for 6 weeks and I visited this restaurant very often. The service is super fast, and the taste is excellent. I was never disappointed every time I visited the restaurant or ordered delivery. Great atmosphere too!

My husband and I are living in dc but we were visiting New york for the weekend. We are Ausrtalian and really enjoy Vietnamese food in Sydney so thought we would try Saigon 48.Last weekend was the second time we were there and as soon as we walked in the lovely young waitress remembered what glass of wine we ordered the first time, which was 2 months prior.we were estounded. The meal was really lovely and the service was very good. My husband and I have lived in the states for 5 months now and we would go as far to say it was the best meal we have had in any restaraunt so far. When visiting New York next time we will definitely go back to saigon 48.

Pleasant atmosphere, attentive servers. All the appetizers and main courses are presented beautifully. Exotic teas, desserts topped off the meal. I recommend to all. I will visit ago. My wife was visiting the city today and will be stopping for lunch. One more thing, for Manhattan and the theater district the prices are excellent. Enjoy.

Our family visited NYC during the 2006 Easter Weekend, and since we stayed at a hotel very close to Saigon 48, we decided to have dinner there. The atmosphere was nice, but when we walked in, we can tell that it was not an authentic Vietnamese restaurant. We started our conversation in Vietnamese, but nobody could speak Vietnamese, from the manager to the receptionist to the waiters. My husband ordered shrimp wonton soup, but the waiter said that they serve the shrimp wontons in a hot and sour soup which we have never heard of (even in a Chinese restaurant) . The rest of us (3 people) decided to order soup with a choice of Saigon noodles. The soup came with a type of noodles, which in the U.S. is callled "spaghetti." We have lived in Saigon for a long time, we have never seen or heard of that kind of noodles. Our food in saigon is different than what they serve at Saigon 48.
