Wednesday night was my second time at Saigon 48 and I brought my parents there for their Anniversary. We all loved it. Staff is very friendly and the food is delicious. I had the Royal Seafood Casserole and it was LOADED with seafood. Big shrimps, mussels, squid etc with fresh veggies. My dad, who is very picky had shrimp with saigon noodles and loved it. The vegetable dumplings were the best I've ever had at any Asian place. You get a lot of food at a very reasonable price!

Passed this place just as it was closing but they beckoned us in anyway - a good start I thought, a sign perhaps of some genuine vietnamese hospitality...the waitress then rushed us to order as the "kitchen was closing" - shouldnt they have warned us about that to begin with? food was edible, but definitely not vietnamese - more of a chinese attempt at it. the bill was placed on our table halfway through the meal and we were reminded another twice that the restaurant was closing. to top it all off they came back with the bill (which i had rounded up to the nearest $10 being simply disgusted with the service) and demanded a 15% tip.

There's some pretty tasty, light food for all the veggies here :-) I had the summer rolls and curry fried rice - good portions and decent flavor. Also, good delivery time. Try the ginger iced tea - yum!

I came here for dinner w/3 friends on a weeknight. I'd heard it's generally very crowded during lunch but the restaurant was only half full during dinner. Service was pleasant, not the best but not bad either. My friend and I both ordered curry (calamari and shrimp) and two others ordered chicken sauteed/stirfry. We were served literally 5 min after we ordered. I thought this was suspicious--did they just throw some sauce on the vegetables and heat it in a wok? The curry was pretty bland, although I'm not sure if Vietnamese curry is just more bland, and the chicken my friends ordered was just okay. The curry was extremely greasy and the "homemade" pancakes tasted store bought and cold. The presentation was great, but the food coloring on the garnish dyed my thumb red. I was slightly disappointed and probably won't come back again.

I took my mom and sister to Saigon 48 for a nice lunch, but it turned out to be a total nightmare. The service was awful, it took the waiter 20 minutes to bring our drinks and when they finally came, my mango martini tasted like canned pineapple juice. My sister's drink was also watery as well as my mom's. The food however was delicious, and the atmosphere charming, but never again am I going to this restaurant. A couple got up and left after waiting forever for someone to take their order. I think that sums up my experience here.

Probably one of the best vietnamese delivery i've had in the city...

I was very surprised to find a nice restaurant in the times square area that not only serves delicious food but is also easy on the wallet. If you look around it is either mediocre food or quite expensive. Saigon 48 was an enjoyable experience with tasty food that I will defenitely go to again next time I'm in the area.
